The miniscule restaurant has moved to a location near Marietta's Historic Square. The eatery had been in the old location for many years. After fixing up this photo I was able to see a very, very faint "ghost sign" beneath the current display. By converting the picture to b+w and other changes, I've brought it almost to where I can grab the name... but not quite. The word, "grill" is there in a strange old timey font, but the rest is hard to make out. I will post the name if I can find out what it reads.

The Cedar Rapids City Assessor says the building is from 1930. I am skeptical of conveniently round-numbered dates assigned to old buildings in property databases, so I looked at Cedar Rapids city directories at ancestrylibrary.com, and I found that "S&W Tenth Street Service, Firestone Tire & Rubber Co" first appears at this address (865 2nd Ave SE, at the corner of 10th St SE) in the 1929 directory (and is absent from the 1928 directory). Therefore I think the building is prob from the late 1920s.

Thank me for my research by sending me a bunch of money so I can quit my job and take pictures instead.

Top Tier felled a bunch of trees in our neighborhood this past Monday. Without any doubt, this is the most professional and thorough firm I’ve ever witnessed. They had to use a corner of our property. We gave them permission days earlier. They laid down large panels where trucks and cranes had to pass to our neighbor’s backyard. They finished up by putting everything back in place, blowing driveways and walkways clear of debris. The crew’s boss was an arborist, knowledgeable and friendly.

They get ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️!

My first photo of this sign, was just after they moved to this location. Today’s sign is better, but the “frame” is a lot worse for wear as it predates the tire business’s arrival here.

Waterbeds 'n' Stuff is famously not a waterbed store but rather a chain of head shops in the Columbus area.

Per its website, "Waterbeds ‘n’ Stuff is the world’s best online smoke shop selling pipes, bongs, vaporizers, dab rigs, vape pens, adult products, synthetic urine, & detox with free shipping nationwide." Mostly I shop there for synthetic urine. I love it! I walk out the door with big bagsful and haul them up to my apartment.
