Samuel Prescott Bush was a noted industrialist (he was president of Buckeye Castings) in the early 1900s. Probably more famous for being the Grandfather of President George H.W.Bush, and Great-Grandfather of President George W. Bush. A surprisingly unassuming monument.

This decidous bush is in my front yard. Altough this is not a a member of the cranberry family nor is my front yard a bog, the berries are edible - sour and rich in vitamin C
We've had a bit of an invasion of these bush stone curlews this wet season. There are about a dozen of them outside our building. They normally hide in the bush by freezing, which makes them very easy to photograph.

A picture that shows the colour of the sun as it started to descend through the cloudy haze on December 9th, 2006 - a day that Melbourne was covered in smoke from the fires burning in Vicoria's countryside.
Haven't been taking too many pictures these days, so forced myself to wander the yard last night as the sun went down. This bush with the light behind it created some wonderful abstract images.
