Burning Mountain. Namibia.

Namibias highest mountain
The Brandberg Mountain Range– or just the Brandberg – is situated in the Erongo region in the west of Namibia about 90 km from the Atlantic Ocean and covers an area 760 km². The mountain range has a mean height of 2500 metres and impressively surmounts its surrounding by some 2000 meters.
The name of the 30 km long and 23 km wide Brandberg derives from the glowing colours that the setting sun paints onto the mountain range as if the mountain was on fire. The closest town is Uis, which is about 30 km away and offers several overnight facilities.
The name Brandberg is Afrikaans, Dutch and German for Fire Mountain, which comes from its glowing color which is sometimes seen in the setting sun. The Damara name for the mountain is Dâures, which means 'burning mountain', while the Herero name, Omukuruvaro means 'mountain of the Gods'.
ODC-Burning
The weather has changed! It's not humid like it has been and the sun was a ball of fire as it came up over the East Cayuga Lake Valley this morning!
My ritual ,burning my numbers pyro shredding watching them get less and less untill theyre ash and blow away on a gust of wind .A gesture of defiance against bills !
But then they come again so you cant win just pay!
In the burning Heart
Just about to burst
There's a quest for answers
An unquenchable thirst
In the darkest night
Rising like a spire
In the burning heart
The unmistakable fire
In the burning heart ...

I highly recommended a visit to the Falkland Arms if you are a fan of lovely old pub interiors that don't seem to have changed since the 18th century. The bar area, the stone roofed part, is basically one small room of low dark ceilings, a flagstone floor, wooden settles and ancient mullioned windows with a huge open fireplace. The dining area rambles through the adjacent cottages and the toilets used to be a visit outside and back through the gap in the hedge to the cottage with the light above the door, but they have now been made accessible through the pub itself.
It's a little while since I've been in and I hope the open fire has remained the same with just a basket on the hearth for burning logs.
The Chelsea Set/designer clothes brigade have moved in en masse to the exclusive Soho Farmhouse spa hotel which is just a few fields away, and although they don't tend to trouble the pub too much, that fire can leave you smelling a bit kippered so I should image not too popular with those wearing designer labels.

Happy (day late) Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope you all were able to enjoy the holiday <3
It all starts with accelerated heart-beat.
Every muscle from my body is now working to keep it under control. It does not come with any alarm, it's completely out of a burst.
It's a war inside me and I can feel every weapon pointing to my own heart, because he is the villain of this whole story.
Each part of me is ready to battle once they listen to my lungs scream, high and on marching rythm, as I breath heady and heavier.
I feel pain in my chest and right after that my eyes are wet. It must be my beloved heart opening fire against whoever is near but he happens to be really bad at aiming.
As I close my eyes trying to stanch the river of tears going out of them I also try to look inside me hoping to find a safe place to stay during this massacre. But, all I see is my squirmed heart losing this bloody clash.
My chest is now burning inside and outside. As I open my eyes once again there's nothing more than a blurred red sparkle glistering in front of me.
This has never happened before but I instantly knew that if my heart is going to die...it's best if it is as a Phoenix does.

On the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina founding of Burners Without Borders, the Krewe of the Dusty Playa presents a Mardi Gras-style float that offers a humorous critique of our two homes, New Orleans and Black Rock City. The symbols of the gentrification of NOLA neighborhoods that have survived both time and storm will be juxtaposed with the plug and play camps that are at the center of so much discussion in the Burner community.
A large, colorful, papier-mâché, jester’s head created in the style of the Krewe of Rex will adorn the prow of a Mardi Gras float. The structure will be like a griffin, but instead of the head of an eagle and the body of a lion, the float will have the head of a jester and a body of a travel trailer.
Made using traditional New Orleans papier-mâché float construction, the float will be constructed using many of the same techniques, materials and by the same artists that carry on the tradition of Mardi Gras as members of New Orlean’s Krewe du Vieux.
Take a look at the burning sky at Alameda with different perspective to see the bay area. I do like this location for the sunrise or sunset view to see the city.

you don't have to be a wave to touch the shore;
just be a little sand-grain and feel them all." - Munia Khan

I’m always attracted to this stooping oak in winter as it holds on to an abundance of marcescent leaves. It stands out like a burning bush on the slope of the bare woodland and I’ve taken many photos of it over the years but never seem to post any. Yesterday the tree again got my early attention. Not that the conditions were any better than I’ve photographed it before today but today I posted that photo from yesterday.
