This bullfrog jumped away from the pond shore to escape being caught by the red-headed hunter (dog). He floated back up to the surface but didn't stay above water long.

Our resident bullfrog.

Spotted him a few days ago for the first time this spring. It is a hard life being a bullfrog that must hibernate each winter and hope the world he reemerges to will still contain his habitat and sustain him another year.

He is so skinny as he sits and waits for any reemerging insect to become his meal to fatten him up so he can do his job of natural mosquito terminator all summer.

Pond and sky as seen in a reflection in a bullfrog's eye

This was taken on the Pond Trail. It was the most slimy pond I've ever seen but teaming with frogs... and mosquitos. Probably why this frog is so fat! We made a pretty quick retreat as we forgot our bug spray!

I got a chance to go to Tregaron Conservancy near Cleveland Park this afternoon. I never have seen frogs this large before. I've seen toads this big, but never frogs!

Bullfrog sitting motionless for a low flying Dragonfly that would make a tasty meal, at least from his point of view.

This bullfrog managed to catch himself a bird! It was taking a long time to get it down though and here you can just see the last of it sticking out of his mouth.

it wasn't until I manually focused on the frog's eye that I saw myself on the boardwalk I was standing. I am waving to you all in this Froggie Fence Friday edition. HFF!
