The Khan's Palace in Bakhchisaray was built in the 16th century and served as a residence for a succession of Crimean Khans. The Crimean Khanate was a Turkic vassal state of the Ottoman Empire from 1478 to 1774 -- the longest-lived of the Turkic khanates that succeeded the empire of the Golden Horde.

The Hsinbyume Pagoda (also known as Mya Thein Tan Pagoda) was built in 1816 by prince Bagyidaw, the son of King Bodawpaya. The prince built this impressive white pagoda to commemorate Princess Hsinbyume his late wife (whose name means the White Elephant Queen) who had passed away during childbirth. One hundred thousand emeralds were used to fund the construction of the white pagoda which can explain its other name Mye Thein Tan (Mye= emerald, Thein Tan = 100,000).
The pagoda’s architectural style is very different from other pagodas in Myamar. The base of the structure shaped like circular terraces is a representation of the seven mountain ranges surrounding Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Buddhist cosmology. The pagoda on top is said to be built after the Chulamanee pagoda in the center of the universe on top of Mount Meru. The pagoda that is topped with a gold spire enshrines a Buddha image. The seven tiered concentric base shaped like waves contains niches, some of which contain small statues of mythological figures.

The Vertical Forest is the prototype building for a new format of architectural biodiversity which focuses not only on human beings but also on the relationship between humans and other living species. The first example, built in Milan in the Porta Nuova area, consists of two towers that are respectively 80 and 112 metres high, housing a total of 800 trees (480 first and second stage trees, 300 smaller ones, 15,000 perennials and/or ground covering plants and 5,000 shrubs, providing an amount of vegetation equivalent to 30,000 square metres of woodland and undergrowth, concentrated on 3,000 square metres of urban surface.
The concept behind the Vertical Forest, that of being a “home for trees that also houses humans and birds”, defines not only the urban and technological characteristics of the project but also the architectural language and its expressive qualities.
The variations in colour and shapes of the plants produce a tremendous iridescent landmark in every season and it is highly recognizable even at a distance. In just a few years this characteristic has resulted in the image of the Vertical Forest becoming a new symbol for Milan.
A few years after its construction, the Vertical Forest has given birth to a habitat colonized by numerous animal species (including about 1,600 specimens of birds and butterflies), establishing an outpost of spontaneous flora and fauna recolonization in the city.

Tolga Convent was founded in 1314 on the left bank of the Volga river, on the place of miraculous appearance of the Tolga Icon of the Mother of God. Against all odds of history, beginning with Mongol Yoke, Tolga Convent emerged from ruins and desolation and nowadays attracts thousands of pilgrims. The convent is located not far from Yaroslavl; on the left bank of the river Volga, at the place of confluence of a small river Tolgobolka (or Tolga) into Volga. White stone walls with high angle towers, cathedrals with multiple heads, glaring golden domes and crosses and a predominating massive bell-tower form one magnificent harmonious structure, captivating eyes of those travelling along Volga. The cedar grove has been planted here in the 16th century to commemorate the miraculous appearance of the icon after fire.

Но когда огонь потух, святую икону обрели вне монастыря, в лесу, совершенно невредимую и сияющую светом. В Смутное время Толгская обитель была полностью разорена, но чудотворная икона уцелела. 1612 год отмечен в летописи монастыря древнейшим из известных крестных ходов с Толгской иконой Богородицы в Ярославль, назначенный тогда сборным пунктом для народных ополчений, собиравшихся для спасения Москвы и Русского государства.

The Grand Central Madison station is a commuter rail terminal for the Long Island Rail Road in the Midtown East neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. The new terminal started construction in 2008 and opened on January 25, 2023.
All visitors of Burano remain intrigued by the many colours and the colorful houses that are reflected into the green waters of channels, by the leaning bell tower, by the tranquility and the calmness with which the elderly ladies embroider original Burano lace by their tombolo (or lace pillow), while they are laughing and chatting in squares among them. It seems to be in paradise.
The beautiful and ornate Cargills Building in Colombo Fort began construction in 1902 and was completed in 1906 in the Renaissance style architecture. In the past, the building served as Colombo’s premier department store from clothing to groceries. Today, the building still serves as a department store and as well as the city’s most familiar landmarks and a popular destination for architecture tours in Colombo.
