This is were the famous adventures of Don Quixote started, the attack on the windmills that he believes to be ferocious giants.
One curiosity is that each windmill has it’s one name, and the same happens with it’s windows.
And to celebrate Portugal victory nothing better than the iconic Tower of Belém on the bank of the Tagus River in Lisbon, Portugal.

I was taking photos of the windmills of Consuegra, when suddenly these cloud formation formed and start dropping some large drops of scarce rain, although it was very hot, I run to another position to try to capture the forming rainbow which didn't form completely because the sun was mostly gone in the opposing horizon.
La Torre is a castle near Buonconvento and dates back to the thirteenth century and once belonged to powerful families of Siena.
The castle was completely restored in the second half of the 800, taking on its current appearance: it is made up of two buildings that overlook a large courtyard surrounded on two sides by walls surrounded by a moat.
Now they are doing new restorations who knows, maybe it will turn into a luxury resort.

Originally the moated castle was used as a shelter and workshop for the dockers, who carried out the maintenance and repair of the hydraulic storage winches. They were called Windenwächter or Windenwächter and had - in addition to other technical personnel - the privilege to live in the Speicherstadt.
I have been driving past this barn on an occasional basis literally for decades, but the light was never "right", at least until one day last Spring. The years haven't been that kind to this barn, but (like so many of us) it's still standing!

You can reach this refuge ( 3006 m ) from Obergurgl in the Ötztaler Alps on a hiking trail in 4 hours. This house was built by the section Hamburg of German Alpine Association in the year 1881. The house serves the mountaineers as accomodation for further alpine tours. That ´s exactly what my friend and i did. We made an ice climbing on a high three thousand meter mountain.
Seen along the reknowned Kankamangus highway in New Hampshire, this barn is part of a 19th century homestead that most definitely did not enjoy good cellular coverage!
Eigentumswohnungen in der HafenCity. Leider sündhaft teuer. Hinter der rechten Häuserreihe verläuft die Elbe und man erhält eine fantastischen Blick auf den Hafen. Bei Hochwasser steht der Wasserpegel bis an die Kaimaueroberkante.
Condominiums in HafenCity. Unfortunately sinfully expensive. Behind the right row of houses runs the Elbe and you get a fantastic view of the harbor. At high water, the water level is up to the quay wall top.

OK, so maybe I'm not standing on it, but this bench does see lots of action. Located out on a jetty that juts into the Atlantic, this bench takes the brunt of hurricane force winds bearing down on the coast. It looks sturdy and I guess it is!

Hamburg HafenCity is currently the largest construction site in Europe.
In addition to the opening of the subway station Elbbrücken in 2018 about 1000 new apartments were occupied. Currently there are 1500 more apartments, various schools, hotels, cinemas under construction. Behind this construction site is the Baakenpark, opened in 2018.
Hamburg HafenCity ist derzeit die größte Baustelle Europas.
Neben der Eröffnung der U Bahn Station Elbbrücken wurden in 2018 ca. 1000 Neubauwohnungen bezogen. Derzeit befinden sich weitere 1500 Wohnungen, diverse Schulen, Hotels, Kinos im Bau. Hinter dieser Baustelle befindet sich der in 2018 eröffnete Baakenpark.
Das Internationale Maritime Museum Hamburg (IMMH) ist ein Schiffahrtsmuseum im Kaispeicher B in der Hamburger Speicherstadt. Es wurde 2008 eröffnet. Ausgestellt wird die Sammlung Peter Tamms aus Objekten zur Seeschifffahrt, deren Kern mehrere Zehntausend Schiffsmodelle bilden. Die Stadt Hamburg stellte die Immobilie der Stiftung sowie 30 Millionen Euro für die Sanierungs- und Umbaukosten zur Verfügung.

The collection Peter Tamms is exhibited from objects to the maritime navigation, whose core forms several ten thousand ship models. The City of Hamburg provided the property to the Foundation and 30 million euros for the renovation and conversion Costs.

Elbbrücken station (Elbe bridges station) is a public transit terminal station in Hamburg, (Germany) near the railway and road bridges called Elbbrücken leading over the Norderelbe. It was consisted of two elevated stops, one for the Hamburg U-Bahn underground, it was opened in December 7, 2018, and one for the Hamburg S-Bahn commuter trains with two tracks each, interlinked by a "skywalk". The station is the terminus of the U4 line of the U-Bahn and will be a new stop on the S3/S31 S-Bahn line.[1] It is built to facilitate a better accessibility of the new HafenCity quarter of Hamburg from the south.
Der Bahnhof Hamburg-Elbbrücken ist ein im Bau befindlicher Knotenpunkt der U-Bahn Hamburg und der S-Bahn Hamburg im Elbbrückenzentrum, einem Teilquartier der HafenCity am nördlichen Ende der Freihafenelbbrücke bzw. der Eisenbahnelbbrücke. Die Stationen werden von der Zweibrückenstraße unterquert. Zwischen beiden verlaufen mehrere Fernbahngleise sowie der Straßenzug Freihafenelbbrücke, über die eine Fußgängerbrücke, der sogenannte Skywalk, hinwegführen soll. Geplant ist damit eine ÖPNV-Erschließung der östlichen HafenCity, von Teilen Rothenburgsorts sowie der nördlichen Veddel.[1] Der U-Bahnhof des Knotenpunktes wurde am 6. Dezember 2018 eröffnet und ging am 7. Dezember 2018 in Betrieb.

Sie wurden Windenwärter bzw. Windenwächter genannt und hatten – neben anderem technischen Personal – das Privileg, in der Speicherstadt wohnen zu dürfen.
Die Winden waren ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Speicherhäuser: Es gab – und gibt bis heute – keine Lastenaufzüge. Sämtliche Waren wurden mit Winden außen an den Fassaden zu bzw. von den Lagerböden der Speicher gezogen.
Die für die Wartungsarbeiten erforderlichen, zum Teil schweren Ersatzteile konnten von hier aus über die Straßen und Kanäle transportiert werden. Auf dem Wasserweg über zwei Kräne an der Ostseite des Gebäudes, zu Land über eine alte Pflasterstraße, die direkt in das Gebäude führt und hinter den großen Flügeltüren des Wasserschlösschens endet.
Heutzutage wird das Gebäude gewerblich genutzt. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine Gewerbefläche für Teehandel mit angeschlossener Gastronomie. In der ersten Etage ist ein Anbieter für Sauerstofftherapie ansässig. Wegen seiner Lage und Architektur diente es auch als Kulisse für Fernsehproduktionen, beispielsweise für die TV-Kinderserie „Die Pfefferkörner“.
Das Wasserschlösschen firmiert außerdem als „Außentraustelle“ des Standesamts Hamburg–Mitte.

The winches were an important component of the storage buildings: there were - and still are today - no freight elevators. All goods were drawn with winches on the outside to the facades to or from the storage floors of the store.
The spare parts required for the maintenance work, some of them heavy, could be transported from here over the roads and canals. On the waterway over two cranes on the east side of the building, on land over an old paved road that leads directly into the building and ends behind the large double doors of the water castle.
Nowadays the building is used commercially. On the ground floor there is a commercial space for tea trade with attached gastronomy. On the first floor, a provider of oxygen therapy is located. Because of its location and architecture, it also served as a backdrop for television productions, such as the TV series "Die Pfefferkörner".
The Wasserschlösschen also trades under the name "Außenentraustelle" of the registry office Hamburg-Mitte.
