All Russian emperors from Alexander I to Nikolay II visited Yaroslavl and lived in the house. Since 1970 the Governor’s House serves as the main building of the Yaroslavl Art Museum

The Church of the Holy Archangel Michael over the village of Oreanda was built in 2006 at the foot of Mount Ai-Nikola. As archaeological excavations indicate, an ancient Christian monastery used to be located on this site. The temple was built by the famous Yalta architect Vyacheslav Bondarenko and is surrounded by mountains. When broadcasting the singing of the male church choir, voices repeatedly reflected from the rocks create an unusual acoustic effect. Such a monumental sound can only be achieved in special concert halls.
В п. Ореанда храм Архангела Михаила построен по проекту архитектора Вячеслава Александровича Бондаренко. Храм начали строить в 2005 г., а уже 21 ноября 2006 г., в день празднования Собора Архистратига Михаила и прочих Небесных сил бесплотных, совершилось его торжественное открытие и освящение. С этого времени тут начали совершаться богослужения, таинства крещения и венчания, другие требы.
В плане он квадратной формы, а с востока прибавлена алтарная часть в виде полукруглой апсиды. С других сторон стены завершаются треугольными фронтонами, опирающимися на капители белоснежных колонн. Сооружение имеет пять глав: большая, возвышающаяся в центре, символизирует Иисуса Христа, а четыре угловых – евангелистов.
The campanile of St. Mark’s is an imposing square plan tower about 99 metres high, crowned by a spire that was once a lighthouse for shipping. It is the prototype of all the campaniles of the lagoon area. It was first built in the 12th century on the site of what was probably a watchtower and rebuilt in its current form early in the 16th centurywith the addition of a belfry and with the spire faced in copper and topped by a sort of rotating platform with a statue of the Archangel Gabriel which functioned as a weathercock. Of the five original bells only the largest remains. The others, now replaced, were destroyed when the tower collapsed in 1902. From the belfry loggia there is a spectacular bird’s eye view of the city and the lagoon.

The construction of Osaka Castle (大阪城, Ōsakajō) started in 1583 on the former site of the Ishiyama Honganji Temple, which had been destroyed by Oda Nobunaga thirteen years earlier. Toyotomi Hideyoshi intended the castle to become the center of a new, unified Japan under Toyotomi rule. It was the largest castle at the time.
The Palace of Prince Alexander Nikolaevich Golitsyn and Countess Sofia Panina (now the Yasnaya Polyana Sanatorium) with the museum room of L. N. Tolstoy, who lived here in 1901-1902. Here he was treated and worked a lot: he wrote the story "Hadji Murad" and a number of articles. Chekhov, Kuprin, Gorky, Chaliapin visited Tolstoy in Gaspra.
In front of the main facade there is a bust of Lev Nikolaevich by the Yalta sculptor D. Zhuravlev.
The building of the sanatorium "Yasnaya Polyana", on which a memorial plaque in memory of the stay of Lev Tolstoy is reinforced, is a palace built of gray stone with lancet windows and massive octagonal side towers topped with battlements and covered with ivy; erected in the 1830s by the creator of the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka, architect Gunt for Prince A. N.. Golitsyn (1773-1844).

Н. Голицына (1773—1844).

The Toorji Ka Jhalra was constructed in the 1740s by the queen-consort of Maharaja Abhay Singh, and features detailed sandstone carvings. Notably, the Jodhpur Stepwell had been buried for years and only recently underwent a restoration to return it to its former glory. The primary function of the structure was to provide a reliable water source during the dry seasons. It also served as a communal gathering point and still does.

New York City - December 28, 2022: Night shot of subway entrance in front of he old New Yorker Hotel on 34th Street and 8th Avenue which is now a Wyndham hotel. The Art Deco building opened in 1930 and is 42 stories high. The building has been owned for years by the Unification Church and is known as the Moonie building.
