This is just part of the view the Thousand Oaks City Hall will command when it is completed in 1971. Architect Jerzy Pujdak and his associate Mark Bielski, who are conducting the national architectural competition for the complete civic center complex, discuss the site with City Manager Glenn Kendall. The construction process of the new BSS building continues with the steel beams being installed on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Chico, Calif.

Utility and tunnel work are underway at the Integrated Sciences Complex. Storm, sewer and drainage piping as well as electrical and IT conduit are being installed. Concrete continues to be poured for the elevator shafts and tunnel leading to the Service and Supply Building. A total of 8,500 cy of concrete will be placed during the construction of the Integrated Sciences Complex.

Welding is an age-old profession that dates back thousands of centuries. Some of the earliest records of joining metals were documented in the bronze age. Precisely 3,500 B.C. Some of these artefacts (tools & pictures) have so far been discovered hidden in the Egyptian tombs. Today, we have highly skilled welders who are well equipped with efficient equipment.
Compared to other skillsets in the world, welding is one of the few that is needed in almost every industry. In the US alone, more than 50% of their products are welded. A successful franchise like NASCAR, has welders who spend close to 950 hours on welding and steel fabrication before a car is certified to hit the road.
For a country that is considered a super power, it is expected they would want to deliver the best of everything. They have always taken pride in their abilities and inventions. In fact, at one point during his presidency, Roosevelt wrote to prime minister Winston Churchill boasting about the discovery of new welding techniques that enabled America to build high speed ships. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the US navy hold the record for the world’s deepest underwater weld at 2000 ft.
In 1969, Russian Cosmonauts took welding to a whole new level when they became the first people to attempt welding in space. Their exploits led to the discovery of many factors. For one, uncoated metals get attached to each other permanently whenever they come into contact in space. The only reason it doesn’t happen here is because the earth atmosphere puts a layer of oxidized material between the surfaces.

I have never driven, nor been driven upon, this stretch of Interstate 84, but I enjoy my views of the welcome sign from over here on the nearby city streets — even though the sign is not intended for me because I am in Hartford already! I live here!

Department of Science & Art certificate in Building Construction for Frederick Mitchell stating he had obtained a First Class in the Elementary Stage dated 30th April 1898.
Believed to be Frederick William Mitchell born 1872, Bradley Green, Staffordshire. 1901 census shows him and his wife Mary Ann Bennett living in Macclesfield, Cheshire and working as a Builder’s Journeyman Joiner. In 1911 they are living at 239 Crompton Road, Macclesfield working as a Building Contractor’s Joiner. He died in 1931.
Yangzi river is one of the river of the origin of the various Chinese races.
One really have to sallute to those who given their soul & lives to built this bridge, the original bridge was not able to carry load like this.
When China closed their door & sour the relationship with Russia, the technology was back to the people power again.
In fact even today technology, the backbone is still is People Power/ Knowledge Power.
