The location of North Quad is actually northwest of the quad and directly north of the State street commercial district. Had this dorm been built when I was at U of M, I would have preferred this location to that of South Quad where I actually ended up my freshman year.

This is a telephoto shot of progress on the new stadium. Shot with my Sony NEX 6 and manipulated a lot in CameraBag 2. Additional tweaks in Aviary.
Indianapolis Colts new home, Lucas Oil Stadium. It is also the site for Super Bowl 46, on February 5, 2012. Not ready for football yet.
Given that North Quad appears to be constructed in a neo-collegiate gothic style, the quality of the stone and brickwork is higher than I expected it to be.

On 11 January 2014 a massive fire burnt for 10 hours razing to the ground most of the ancient city of Dukezong/Shangrila, destroying 250 buildings some up to 600 years old.
Repairs are are on the scale of a complete rebuild of most of the town, starting with essential services. Hopefully the finished town will retain some of the character of the old one.

Well done, Anna, this is excellent work and this document will serve as a useful reference manual throughout your course. This brochure is very smartly presented and has a contents sheet and numbered pages. Some very good illustrations and explanations have been included.
Some of the images in the kitchen design section (the images of the units and kitchen appliances) are a little small . It would be better to have only 2 to a page.
This is taken in Beijing " T Bai Shopping Mall". This is actual an old building which is remoldered to become a Shopping Mall. I am informed that in Beijing & Major Cities of China, many of these historical building have been given way to the Model Concrete Building.
Which is not using the Green building concept, thus increase the green house gases & global warmming!!
I just read an article say that each of us actually emmitting 22 Tons of Green House gas a year.
For the pollutions that we generated, we need a globe which i s 14 times of the present earth size to dispose .
So this is really alarmming.......
You need to do something together now then never!!

AS President Krystal Alvarez (left), Brenna Gossner (right) and the campus community gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new College of BSS Building in the footprint of the old Physical Sciences Building on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Chico, Calif. This state-of-art building will be the first net-zero building at Chico State and the third in the CSU! The 94,000-square-foot building will revitalize the eastern edge of campus and be home to nine departments. It will feature 22 classrooms, one large lecture hall, and five hands-on labs for conducting research, as well as conference and breakout rooms. This structure will have rooftop solar panels and an efficient water system to reduce its carbon footprint. It will also have an interior garden, which extends the natural beauty of our tree-filled campus into the building. When it opens in fall 2024, it will help the College of BSS advance innovative and high-quality teaching and research to expand our understanding of behavioral, social, cultural, and environmental aspects of the human condition.

The idea of the present revolves around change. On a time scale of a few seconds the people on the walkway will change, and on a timescale of weeks the building being constructed will change.
People come and go on the walkway all the time, so similar but never identical views will re-occur.
But the building is on a bigger timescale, and could last for decades. It has never looked like this before, and it will never look like this again.

Two brand new cranes at the Accident Fund Site (former Ottawa Street Power Station) sit in the yard awaiting work. Once demolition work on the Grand Ave parking ramp and BWL chiller towers are completed this summer, these cranes will be sprung into action.

We're building a 14' X16' office shed for my wife. Once the major framing was in place, they left braces in place overnight to keep the walls true, but in a tight space I thought the the criss-crossing brace beams created some fascinating lines and angles (which also created their own play with shadows and light...).
