BLM Winter Bucket List #14: Cache Creek Natural Area, California, for Eagle Hikes
On Saturdays in January through mid-February, you can join the BLM California and other outdoors enthusiasts for guided eagle hikes in the Cache Creek Natural Area. Spend four or five hours hiking across the secluded, hilly expanse of oak woodlands and grasslands - a combination of over 70,000 acres of BLM managed lands and 4,700 acres of state and county lands.
Eagles often soar over the Cache Creek or perch in streamside trees, and visitors often spot other wildlife, including tule elk, golden eagles, osprey, herons, red-tailed hawks and egrets.
The Cache Creek Natural Area is managed to improve habitat for wildlife and rare plants, to protect cultural resource values, and to offer primitive recreation opportunities, including wildlife viewing, river running, hiking, equestrian use and fishing. In 2006, approximately 27,245 acres within the Cache Creek Natural Area were designated as the Cache Creek Wilderness Area.

BLM Winter Bucket List #30: Cadiz Dunes, California, for Dramatic Photography of Pristine Wilderness
The Cadiz Dunes Wilderness is located in a remote corner of the Mojave Desert about 12 miles south of Cadiz and historic Route 66. The area is accessible year-round, but summer temperatures can soar to 120 degrees in the dunes so winter and spring are better times to visit.
These small dunes were formed by north winds pushing sands off the Cadiz Dry Lake. The pristine nature of the dunes and the beautiful display of unique dune plants have made the area a favorite for photographers. It is surrounded by several other wilderness mountain ranges that provide dramatic backdrops for the dunes.

This board was set up in the park In Paso Robles, my favorite was "not die," but there were others i agree with like, "see the world," "tour Japan" and "survive the zombie apocalypse."
I have some sort of bucketlist with locations on it I would like to visit soon. This former administration office of this wellknown machinery manufacturer has been on that list for several years. And now finally I got to pay it a visit.
This is one of the most beautiful staircases I have ever seen. When you look up from the ground floor, it has this Escher style to it. It was love at first sight!
Unfortunately the rest of the building is severely damaged by vandals. It has been empty for a long time already and you can tell.
When we stepped out, the police were waiting for us. ID's were checked, bags were checked and luckily we could leave with a smile.

BLM Winter Bucket List #16: Baldwin County, Alabama, for Warm, White Sand Beaches and Wildlife
Are you tired of cold weather and mounds of snow? Then come on down for a visit to BLM’s pristine white sand beaches in Baldwin County, Alabama. Here you will find six small beach front tracts, totaling about 30 acres, managed by the Southeastern States Field Office located in Jackson, Mississippi. These tracts provide access to recreation activities on the Gulf of Mexico and its many beaches. Made almost entirely of quartz grains washed down from the Appalachian Mountains thousands of years ago, the white-sand beaches that make up the Gulf Shores shoreline are some of the finest in the world.
With winter daily average temperatures are in the 60’s, these beaches make the bucket list if you wish to trade snow drifts for sand dunes, seagulls singing, and waves crashing; it’s everything you need to discover a whole new side to BLM public lands. And, if you are lucky, you might get to observe sea turtle nesting or catch a glimpse of the Alabama beach mouse, both federally endangered.
