Carn Galver Mine. The name Carn Galver means rockpile at the lookout place. There is a small pumping and a whim engine house on the St Just - St Ives coastal road (B3306). The mine was worked until 1878. It was restored twenty ago by the National Trust. This mine was never really productive and suffered from drainage problems.
Carn Galver Mine appears to have operated 1851–59, and 1871–77, 1882, becoming in 1907 Bosigran Consols
Gurnard's Head copper mine was operating in the 1830's using a 20 inch wide water wheel. Porthmeor Valley - contains many mining remains, including water wheel pits and circular ore washing sites Carn Galver - near the hamlet of Rosemergy, was part of Morvah and Zennor United. It was a very wet mine, and the pump drew water from 780 feet down, with a second engine used to raise and crush the ore. It stopped working in 1878
1871 it employed seventy miners, with an adit 70 fathoms below the surface and a shaft sunk to 130 fathoms. The ore was crushed by a compound steam engine, fitted with two pneumatic stamps. The mine was pumped out by steam power.
The Grand Canal (Canal Grande, Canal Grando, anciently Canałasso) is a channel in Venice and one of the city's major water-traffic corridors.
One end leads into the lagoon near the Santa Lucia railway station and the other into the basin at San Marco; in between, it makes a large reverse-S shape through the central districts (sestieri) of Venice. It is 3.8 km long, and 30 to 90 m wide, with an average depth of five meters (16.5 ft).

I'm sick of doing 10 random facts. Let's do....10 things on my bucketlist!
1. Travel the world. And I mean WORLD. Paris, Russia, Australia, Alaska, Japan, you name it, I wanna go there.
2. Donate blood. I've always wanted to do this but everytime my school has a blood drive I happen to have pierced something within the past 6 months or I was literally 4 days too young to participate :(
3. Meet at least one of my musical obsessions (Lady Gaga, Hayley Williams, etc.)
4. Be fluent in 5 languages. I've already got Russian, English & Spanish down. I want to add Hebrew and Korean to that list :)
5. Become known for my photography. I really want to make it big.
6. Once I'm on my own, I want to have at least 3 dogs. One german shepherd, one rottweiler & a mutt from a pound.
7. Get a good photo of a hummingbird. I can never seem to get them just right :(
8. Have a beautiful house somewhere close to the city, but not in the city. I love my current neighborhood but I think I want to be a little closer to NYC later on in life.
9. Speaking of my future house, it will have an award winning garden. I've always dreamed of having the perfect garden. A pool, a pond with koi fish, some water fountains, shrubs, flowers, trees, everything. Possibly surrounded by a big white fence. Maybe a picket fence so that people can see in & admire. I want it to look like a fairy tale.
10. Learn how to dance. Sure, I can party it up if I need to, but it'd be nice if I knew how to do like. The merengue. Or to ballroom dance. Or something.
**People that I tagged; you should do 10 things on your bucketlist too! ;) **

In the top #3 of the Rome-bucketlist is the ancient city. That includes Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and the Colosseum. I am particularly intrigued by the extremely rich and often bloody history and will try to share some of it. But these are all classic tourist attractions. What local diamonds did you visit and should not be missed? #localgem (bij Colosseum)

February's #nationalconservationlands, BLM Winter Bucket List, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument in Arizona for Its Dark Sky Park Status
The Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument is a vast remote landscape where the only nighttime light comes from the stars. The International Dark Sky Association (IDA) recognized the unspoiled quality of its pristine and breathtaking night skies with an official IDA designation as “Parashant International Night Sky Province,” joining an elite group of other international Night Sky Places around the globe.
Twenty-two organizations throughout the southwestern United States supported the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument’s nomination for IDA’s “Dark Sky Park” status, including the scientific community. Its pristine “Gold Tier” night sky view creates prime research and discovery opportunities.
The scenery continues to impress during the day at this rugged corner of northern Arizona, with views stretching from the lower portion of the Grand Canyon to the pine clad peaks of Mount Trumbull and Mount Logan Wilderness Areas. Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument is jointly managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service.

April #conservationlands15 #bucketlist: Bodie Hills, California, for Wildflowers, Wildlife and One-of-a-Kind Ghost Town!
California’s Eastern Sierra region is a dramatic transition zone between the snowcapped granite spires of the Sierra Nevada and the endless sagebrush covered uplands of the Great Basin. A visit at the right time of year will reward visitors with a diversity of wildflowers.
One great wildflower viewing area is just north of Mono Lake and east of Yosemite in the rolling Bodie Hills – hills being an understatement since they top out at over 10,000 feet! Because of their high elevation, wildflower blooms are later here than much of California – typically arriving in May-June on the lower slopes and into July on the highest peaks. Several back roads traverse the area and offer access to view the displays of phlox, penstemmon, and paintbrush to name a few of the many wildflower species. More than 100,000 acres of BLM lands cover most of the Bodie Hills and include several wilderness study areas.
This year’s bloom promises to be early and short due to the dry winter across much of California. However, even if you miss the peak bloom, there is no shortage of things to see in the area. Bodie State Park is the site of the best-preserved ghost town in California, and arguably in the U. S. Wildlife viewers can see antelope, mule deer, and if lucky, get a glimpse of a sage grouse. If you visit later, around early October, crisp clear nights will turn the scattered aspen stands to gold, giving a second opportunity to see the Bodie Hills in color.

On my bucketlist was this favourite spot of mine where a very good friend of mine Aline van Weert showed and produced some awesome shots with these fisherman nets. But it needs extremely low tide. 22nd June, unfortunately without Aline, with a small group of fans of this place from the photographers group Life on Pixels joined me to this fantastic photo spot! Aline thanks for the inspiration!

Years ago, I set out on a journey to listen to the 500 Greatest Albums of All time and journal through them as I listened to them. A majority of the albums that I listened to were from the Rolling Stone list of top 500 albums, but some were also personal albums that really meant a lot to me and greatly influenced my life.
Today, I completed that journey…
I listened to some really great albums and discovered some really great music that I otherwise would never have experienced. Sadly, I also heard some albums that I hope to never hear again- but those were pretty few and far between. This was a great journey to take, and who knows maybe I’ll go through and craft a similar journey to take again someday!

There’s nothing quite as spectacular as seeing a 200,000 pound southern righthand whale fly into air so effortlessly, exposing its whole body.
It was pure magic to see this just a few meters away from me!
Have you been whale watching before?

This board was set up in the park In Paso Robles, my favorite was "not die," but there were others i agree with like, "see the world," "tour Japan" and "survive the zombie apocalypse."
I am in the process of replacing a few items on my Lifetime Dreams list, and one of the new bucket list items is to spend time at 100 waterfalls.
I have discovered the beautiful and enchanting experience of not just seeing a waterfall, but sitting next to it, hiking in and around it- feeling the breath it pours out. So I don't want to just go see 100 waterfalls... I want to go experience 100 waterfalls (two on the completed list so far!).

BLM Winter Bucket List #15: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada, for a “Natural” Getaway with Stellar Rock Climbing
When winter temperatures drive most of the nation indoors, Red Rock Canyon - Nevada’s first National Conservation Area - comes alive with activity.
The area is located just 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip and is visited by more than one million people each year. In marked contrast to a town geared to entertainment and gaming, Red Rock offers visitors 195,000+ acres for a different kind of adventure - a 13-mile scenic drive, more than 30 miles of hiking trails, campgrounds and diverse outdoor recreation activities as well as a visitor center with exhibit rooms.
What’s the greatest attraction to Red Rock in the winter? It’s the climbing in moderate weather. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is considered one of the finest rock climbing areas in the world. It features hundreds of established sport, bouldering and traditional climbs, with commercial guides and resources available for even the beginner.
Find more information about local events and activities on our partner organization’s website: redrockcanyonlv.org/.
