Redhead - Drake.
Bucketlist photo bird! It was worth loosing the feeling in my feet and fingers to get some photos of this gorgeous male Redhead who was spotted in Forest Park. I was initially hesitant at going to look for him, but an ebird record showed he was still present this morning. Even with all my cold weather gear on, the indicated 14* on the truck, the ducks were swimming about on the open section of the pond. These arent super uncommon in MO during the winter, but they arent usually seen in large numbers or super consecutively. While I do wish I was able to get a lower angle on the water to him, I wasnt going to risk going thru the ice OR laying in the snow. I took over 800 photos in about 35-40 minutes, so theres a few to go thru, and so far there are some really good looking ones.

I always had this shot on my bucketlist: A clear Milky Way over the epic Tre Cime ❤️. We had best conditions that night so, after only two visits, I can finally tick that off my list . www.instagram.com/wim__air

Big day today. Took the plunge and put down a deposit for our bucket list cruise in Alaska. We will be going with my husband's family, eight of us in all. It's a 14 day land & sea trip at the end of August. Can't believe this will actually happen!
Week 25 in 52 Weeks for Dogs. I've been meaning to do a 'bucket list' for Taivas for quite some time. She is a dog who has missed her vocation in life, to herd anything that moves. I wish I'd set up a better backdrop but yet again, I was up against the time, having left her shot until Sunday.

Two giant hands support the façade of Palazzo Morosini Sagredo (also known as Ca’ Sagredo), one of Venice's most iconic buildings that risks sinking due to a changing climate.
The annular eclipse passed over my home. This photo is of the ring of fire as it passed through a colander (left) and a pinhole in paper (right). Interestingly, the total eclipse will also pass right over my home in April 2024, so we are sort of in a cosmic x.
I certainly hope it sends some good juju my way. It seems now that I've made it through cancer my lumbar disks are failing and I'm having back surgery next week. These disks have served me well through years of rolling kayaks in whitewater, backpacking, jumping horses over obstacles, hauling water, digging in the garden so I can't blame them for giving up. But I can't ignore the numbness and pain in my legs any longer.
Recently I read an article about when you age you should not only have a bucket list, but also a chuck it list. I realize that some of my activities are now going onto the chuck it list. But fortunately my photography and art will continue and maybe even become more of a focus. During my recovery I intend to work on some of my older photos to share with you.
Burg Eltz. I've seen so many amazing photos of this place here on Flickr - so I couldn't wait to go here. Would have looked amazing in fog, snow or in Autumn...none of which you get in June!
When Icelandair B757-23N TF-FIC arrived in Shannon today the Pan Am colours had ben replaced with "Bucketlist Experiences" titles and logo - these are on the port side only.

Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. There is a lovely story behind this massive construction, which you can find on wiki..
Captured tower is a minaret, which are each more than 40 metres (130 ft) tall, display the designer's penchant for symmetry. They were designed as working minarets—a traditional element of mosques, used by the muezzin to call the Islamic faithful to prayer.
Shot in a busy evening but I found the perfect place to capture the unexplored beauty of TAJ...
A very famous spot for land- and cityscape photographers in the Netherlands is this arrangement of colorful harbour houses in Groningen. But since I'm not from around this image has been on my bucketlist for quite some time. Last weekend we were on our way to Eemshaven and I finally had the opportunity to take this image of Reitdiep. My way: It was a sunny day with lots of clouds. Adding a 10 stop ND filter plus a circular polarisation-filter on top of each other I achieved my long exposure for a smooth water surface plus some motion in the sky. The sun brings out all the bright colors of the Scandinavian-looking houses.
I am contented with the result (although I loved a little more movement in the clouds) but hey....: there should always be reason for improvement.
For the rest..........
Enjoy!

It's hard to believe that there's snow so close to the equator in Tanzania, but when you consider that Mount Kilimanjaro stretches 19,341 feet in the air, it becomes more comprehensible. Not only is there snow, there are fields of ice and infamous glaciers that attract tourists from every part of the world.

Seen at the Cincinnati Art Museum while visiting the "Burning Man" exhibit a while back. Caretakers wipe it clean every week or so. Makes one stop and examine the postings. A lot to take in...from funny to very serious. Thought provoking.

This was a highlight of my trip home. It was on my bucketlist while there and we got so lucky !
One was in the window on the east side of the old farmhouse, we hadn't seen them yet and as we neared the house we heard a clatter. When we looked we could see one owl through the east window sitting in the west window (those shots did not turn out) .... so the course of action was to disturb them no further and rather than walk around the house and likely have them fly off, we went back to the road and walked up the road a ways. Thankfully I had my 500mm Sigma. These are the shots on a high sun, very hot afternoon on the prairie in Alberta.
I could have stayed there all day watching them.
Some coronavirus humor, to keep my spirits up, and maybe yours. Should such humor be called "ventilating?"

IF YOU ARE STILL READING, here are three important things to know about my bucket and my bucket list:
1. It is a small bucket. This is because my list is a short one.
2. I do not lock the bucket.
(a) This allows anyone who finds it a chance to add to my list. This is potentially an interesting innovation.
(b) This allows anyone to steal the list if they want. This has the potential to save me time and money that I might devote to a better cause.
3. The bucket is not secured in place, and it is next to a secluded public path. This means that anyone who needs a bucket worse than I do can take it without fear of consequences.
Location: A secluded public path, Riehen BS Switzerland.

April 8, 2024 - Diamond Ring at the Solar Eclipse Totality, as seen and photographed from Trinity Overlook Park in Dallas, Texas, during the Total Solar Eclipse! This was a Bucket List Photo Shoot and Experience for me! The clouds were thick on Eclipse Day, but thank God for answered prayers, as the clouds moved away and gave us an amazing sight with the Total Solar Eclipse totality!
Bled was on my bucketlist for a long time.
So we planned a Slovenien vacation with my wife on this summer.
We had a bit unluck with the weather, when we arrived to Bled.
At the first night a huge storm came, and it was raining for 5 days straight. Furthermore, we were camping. We planned to do so many things around Bled but we couldn’t. Most of the time we were just sitting in our tent. It was pretty awful.
On the last day, the storm went away, and we went out to the lake immediately. After the storm it was everything so beautiful.
This story reminds me about life itself. Sometimes we struggle, we keep doing our best, and it seems like there is no result. We have to stay persistent, because sooner or later the storm will go away.
