We put all of our food scraps into our compost bucket and then when it's full take it to our local "sanitary district" where they compost the whole shebang w/yard waste, etc. We're on the waiting list for an "Earth Machine" so we can do it all at home, and have the lovely compost for our garden too.

Remember when you use to swing as a kid? I never had these "bucket" style seats. The swings were just a piece of 2x6". Not too crazy about these bucket seats anyway. What if a kid has a big butt? It looks awfully uncomfortable for boys too!
This is the end of the Sumpter Valley Dredge bucket line. The dredge scooped at the rate of seven buckets per minute, so that was a lot of rock over its 19 years on the Powder River.

I used this white 5 gallon bucket to lower this 3 week old peregrine falcon eyas to the ground so it could be banded. I didn't notice that I would be giving a shout out to the Cape May County Herald at the same time... oh well! This was the last young of the year to be banded as part of a management project where young are banded with federal and state leg bands for future tracking.
