Not sure how I forgot to upload this one, but a panoramic photo found in the archives taken with my iphone and stitched in photoshop. This sunset had such a broad range of color, it was fascinating.

The other side of the bridge had its own charm. The red lights on the bridge made a bold statement against the calm water, creating a striking reflection.
The yellow lights from the nearby buildings added warmth to the scene, making it feel peaceful yet vibrant.
A beautiful moment that ended the day on the perfect note.
World Direct Shipping containers roll into CSX's Bedford Park Intermodal Yard in Bedford Park, Illinois on CSX train I115 (Chambersburg, PA to Bedford Park, IL, stacks). The rear end of the train was hanging back into Bridgeview on Indiana Harbor Belt's mainline. The Bridgeview water tower was centering itself between cars.

This young lady was taking photos of a party bus that was stuck in traffic on Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, Illinois last week during the Summer Smash festival at Seat Geek Stadium on 71st street. She was actually riding with the party bus, but jumped off to get some shots. The bus looked like a lot of fun.....

El Mar Bowl closed December 2020 and has been sold to a developer. April 19, 2021 the property was surrounded by the teardown fence and demolition will begin when the permits are in order.
The south west corner of the building was occupied by PJ’s Drive In.
Update August 15, 2021 - Demolition is underway, but last week several men were sitting outside the fence picketing and had “On Strike” signs in hand. It appears demo might have stopped for the time being..

The Queen Wagon Family Truckster, aka "office on wheels" hangs out with CSX train I003 at 71st St. in Bridgeview, Illinois on IHB's main line. I003 was headed in to terminate at CSX's Bedford Park Intermodal Yard in Bedford Park, Illinois, after arriving from South Kearny, New Jersey.
CSX train I004 (Bedford Park, IL, to South Kearny, NJ, stacks) pulls out of Bedford Park Intermodal Yard, and off the controlled siding onto the #1 main at CP-238 in Bridgeview, Illinois on Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad's mainline.
Since taking this shot, I004 has lost his "0" high priority number and is now I104, which is common for stacks with no trailers.

A thick mist and low clouds hung over the Rockville Bridge as an eastbound made the crossing. Never is there a moment here that isn't spiritual. There is always mood and feeling.

One year ago today I was here, when all was right with the world as yet another westbound crosses the bridge. Here's hoping we get that world back soon! This is the post I wrote at that time.
You ever dream of visiting a place for literally more a decade and then finally get to see it in person? Well that happened to me last night and today and these photos kind of sum it up.
The Bridgeview Inn B&B in Marysville, Pennsylvania is one of those spots for me. And it exceeded my expectations 100 fold!
The location on the west bank of the Susquehanna River just upstream from the state capital of Harrisburg is gorgeous. It is named for the Rockville Bridge that was constructed between April 1900 and March 1902 by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The bridge has forty-eight 70-foot spans, for a total length of 3,820 feet and is the longest stone masonry arch viaduct in the world.
The Inn is well appointed, comfortable, and decked out with so much great railroad memorabilia and reading material. And the host is just an absolute delight. Keith was so welcoming and kind and even called his friends for info on some special trains and took me for a ride to show me some spots. Definitely way above and beyond what I expected!
The grounds are gorgeous with a wide lawn, big deck and plenty of places to just sit with a hot coffee or cold beer (depending on the time of day). And to top it all off the lighting and photo opportunities are actually really good!
This shot was just another "grab" shot while I was inside talking to Keith or eating breakfast when all of a sudden I'd here a rumble and head outside with my camera and train 21V came rolling west. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with other guests from Ohio, Connecticut, Minnesota, and New Jersey.
And last but not least it was WAY busier than I expected. I saw 15 trains in the first 2 hrs after I woke up, and easily 50 in the 10 hrs before I left. Lots of coal, intermodal, manifest, and an ethanol train, a rail train, a couple of locals, Amtrak and more! Far busier and more varied than I expected.
If you've never been to Bridgeview but always wanted to I'm telling you now that you will LOVE it.
It may have been my first visit but it won't be my last!
