3 April 2008, Bridgeview, Illinois: Toyota Park
The Chicago Fire handly defeat the New England Revolution scoring the first goal within the 4.5 minutes of play by Chad Barrett. The remaining goals were scored all in the first half, two by newly signed international, Tomasz Frankowski, and another by Cuauhtemoc Blanco.
For the 15,000 + CHICAGO FANS who naturally braved the constantly cold rain, this victory was a grand home opener and satisfying revenge on a infamous Twellman Bicycle kick in 2007.
"Late last night when the REVS were all in bed, Barrett lit a lantern in the shed, And when Cuauhtemoc kicked it over, He winked his eye and said, "We're goin' have a hot time in the old town tonight. FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!"

This Week in Bristol Indiana - 7-28-18. Gail Marner, former Bristol resident on the right, & Harriet Edwards, left, who works for Tom Russell, talked about old times and memories of Bristol. Gail’s aunt, Sandy Shultz owned the now Evans Cafe about 40 years ago, called it the Cow Bell, and decorated it with cows all over inside. Gail also lived in the house across from Camille’s in the 70s. Back in the 30s, the home was called Pinetree Cottage and was owned by the Sanger family. It has been recently remodeled. The ladies joined others for breakfast at Evans Sidewalk Cafe in downtown Bristol.
The Raynors (the Puppet Masters of Bristol) were out for their morning stroll. They spend as much time as possible living in Bridgeview in Bristol, when they are not on the road. The flower pots and hanging baskets that were done by Park Board member Penny Bucks, and Friends of the Parks like Janet Swank and Lori Dreamer & her daughter, planted on a rainy day, and now add color to the Town streets.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Show - May 21, 2019 at Bridgeview in Bristol.
Back at Bridgeview in Bristol for their summer season, Dan and Zan Raynor who travel the Country presenting various marionette shows at schools, community centers, etc., hosted a viewing party for their family and friends of their latest show: Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Both children and adults were transfixed by this free show featuring original characters that took place in Alaska, where the Zaynors often tour. There were delicious snacks to share. The room was filled with people young and old sitting on couches or chairs or even on the floor, One bit of amusement was the severed (fake) arm that dangled from the ceiling from what the Raynors described as a poor ceiling repair that was converted to a fun conversation piece. A good time was had by all, including the Raynor children (and spouses) who play a role in the performances from recording voices or helping backstage. This talented family, Dan. the presenter and Zan, the creator, make all the original marionettes and scenery and write the scripts.
Another shot of the restored plaster ceiling of the Bridgeview Bank Uptown. This 1924 bank opened as Sheridan Trust & Savings Bank, and was designed by Marshall and Fox.
Open to all this day as part of the special "Open House Chicago" weekend (presented by Chicago Architecture Foundation), which allows access to a myriad of architectural gems usually inaccessible to the general public.
Years ago, all McDonald's had a "theme". The company seems to have gotten away from this to a large extent as new restaurants are built. This restaurant was built in the early 2000s, replacing a very early mansard-roofed one which for years had its original "Skinny M" plastic sign with "HAMBURGERS" on the sign. I don't know why this one, (in an inner-ring suburb,) has a NASCAR theme, but I thought it was pretty cool.

I have some of my work in this show
This was an attraction-within-an-attraction during Open House Chicago: performance art featuring the "Queen of Luxuria" and her loyal assistants.
[taken from the CAF Open House Chicago website]: "As part of the 5 Artists/5 Stories program curated especially for OHC weekend, artist Carron Little, acting as the Queen of Luxuria, will give an interactive performance that will invite the visiting public to participate. In this performance the audience will leave the Bridgeview Bank building having gone through a positive transformative experience that is otherworldly and utopic".
While the "visit" was rather short, there were a few people ahead of me, plus, I wanted to try and check out a few additional OHC sites that day, so I sadly snubbed the queen.
According to the CAF person who was here, this ceiling has been restored to its original color scheme. LOVELY!
This is a small Chicago-area chain of stores; this is the only one I've ever visited. This was built as an Eagle Food Center around 1970 or so. This is former Eagle signage.
A substitute in the April 18, 2009 match vs. Kansas City, Rolfe played 13 minutes as he became the 13th player in Fire history to reach 100 MLS appearances for the club. The recently returned striker celebrated his milestone with former roommate Gonzalo Segares, who earned his 100th career appearance by starting the 2-2 draw.
