This Week Bristol Indiana - Sept. 16, 2017. Bridgeview, the Raynor home two doors east of the Bristol Post Office is famous for their porch times. On Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, the porch overflowed with family and friends.
Grandmother Maggie’s oldest friend Iva Sawtelle from Ohio was visiting, as were next-door neighbors, the Wiliams. Dan and Zan (of Stevens Puppets) were joined by their children and significant others: Pais and Andy, Mak and Katelyn, and their youngest children Caven and Leilia. Gnoli is off at college working on her MFA in theatre design and production at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Also on Saturday, Carl Mauck, author of the just published “Bonneyville Mills Then and Now,” by Retrospect Press, greeted family and friends at a Bristol book signing. Carl’s cousins, Ruth Ann Rockwell and Karan Holt enjoyed teasing him about their childhood days, and Carl shared stories of how he and his other cousin Harlan Blood liked to hide about the Mill from what they called “the pesky girl cousins. The Bristol Library has the book for sale.

In 1991 the ferry company Euroway was formed around the idea of a line from Malmö, Sweden, to Lübeck, Germany, via Travemünde. Sailing over 10 kilometer along the river Trave with ships this large was a demanding, At wind speeds over 11 m/s it was not allowed at all.
This is the view from the bridge as the "Frans Suell" , formerly owned by Silja Line and built in Split, Croatia, approaches central Lübeck. You can make out the church towers among the cranes.

The Bridgeview used to be a favourite watering hole for Henry Lawson. There is a cave in a park nearby where he slept off his benders. It is also the staff canteen for television station Channel 9, which is just up the road. You can see the transmission tower in the background.

After many years of numerous traffic delays caused by long slow moving Indiana Harbor Belt transfer freight trains...a new underpass viaduct is under construction in 2012 along West 71 St Street in Bridgeview Illinois.
