Well we had a week at the seaside in July but the weather was not so great except for the first two days....
One day there will come a time when I will look back and smile proudly, "because I was able to get through a difficult time in my process"

Sunset at Holland State Park on Lake Michigan. This walkway should be snow covered and icy. Wind warnings were in full effect. Hope these people didn't speak or smile because you will get sand in your teeth in these conditions :)
A very precious memory of Bella, taken almost 2 years ago on the day she came to live with me. It’s one of my first photos of her. She was still close to her travel basket, looking around cautiously & trying to be brave. Looking at this photo reminds me how young & vulnerable she seemed then.
Happy Caturday
O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people (squirrels like Liam) in't.

Caught in a sudden heavy rain while walking leisurely along a village street, two little boys - instead of seeking cover in a nearby shade - run as fast as they can most probably towards their home(s).

Les Braves
Sculpteur: Anilore Banon
"Les Braves" consists of three elements:
The Wings of Hope
So that the spirit that carried these men on June 6th 1944 continues to inspire us, reminding us that together it's always possible to change the future
Rise, Freedom!
So that the example of those who rose against barbarity, helps us remain strong against all forms of inhumanity.
The Wings of Fraternity
So that this surge of brotherhood always reminds us of our responsibility towards others as well as ourselves. On June 6th, 1944 these men were more than soldiers, they were our brothers.
at -27°C (-39°C wind chill) in Montreal! I'm going to be out there at sunrise again, brrrr!
if you don't hear from me in the next day or so... send over some hot coffee to thaw me out.
Les Braves Omaha Beach Memoorial was dedicated in. 2004, the 60th anniversary of D-Day. Almost directly in the center of Omaha Beach, it is a striking and sobering reminder of the bravery of the Allied forces that landed that day here.
Two robotic explorers have travelled millions of miles from their home soccerball planet to investigate a strange new world. Who knows what adventures they will have there?
"bzzt-How are your -bzzt- servo legs functioning Commander-bzzt?"

Would you risk it for a chocolate biscuit? - Take the risk, you might get a nice reward......Fortune favours the brave!
I don't know what a baby jumping spider looks like for sure, but I think this tiny one fits the bill.
Twenty-four hours after SL hackers tried to get into my account, I'm back in this inspiring place where everything is possible. Thanks to my friends who looked out for me. Love you. xx
The playgrounds they get rusty and your
Heart beats another ten thousand times before
I got the chance to say :
I miss you...
We moved together like a silver lock and key
But now that your lock has changed,
I know I can't fit that way.
When it gets hard
I get a little stronger now
I get a little braver now
And when it gets dark
I get a little brighter now
I get a little wiser now
Before I give my heart away...

Taken at the beautiful missing melody sim, made by my friend Bambi - go visit! :
Loved watching this calf when he was hiding behind his mother..... now he finally got a little braver.
Hunting the archives this morning, found this one I took a couple of years ago.
I find sparrows are usually a lot easier to photograph than some of our other garden birds, or maybe they're just braver and not afraid of me LOL
I need to get some practice in for photographing wildlife.... In just under 12 weeks, I head off to the Canadian Rockies... yippee... If I'm excited now, I can't imagine what I'll be like closer to the time LOL
Anyway... I have loads to do, and I'm waiting on my new camera arriving... Just ordered a Canon 80D!!! Not sure which I'm more excited about LOL
Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my previous photos... I appreciate you taking the time to stop by :)
Have a great Wednesday everyone :)
Back when UP's Topeka locals were run almost exclusively by locals, I set out on an chilly January morning to see what was moving in the snow.
As it turned out, I found the GMTX 2169 leading a Kansas City-bound local out of the Topeka, KS yard, making for quite the winter scene.
Another wild storm has hit us today with 60-70mph winds. Nipped down to the beach for an hour late this afternoon when the sun briefly came out. I thought this surfer heading out to sea was very brave...or foolish. No doubt he knew what he was doing.
Les Braves is a war memorial that is located on the shores of Omaha Beach in the village of St. Laurent-sur-Mer in Normandy, France and commemorates the fallen American soldiers, of World War ll who have lost their lives on the beaches of Normandy, June 6th 1944.
The memorial represents three elements: The Wings of Hope, Rise Freedom, and the Wings Of Fraternity. French sculptor Anilore Banon, created the monument in 2004, commissioned by the French government to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion Of Normandy. In the center, there are seven stainless steel columns and a group of five columns that curve upwards, two columns stand upright, with the tallest reaching 30 feet. Stainless steel wings gracefully stand on both sides.
Intended only as a temporary art piece, the sculpture still stands on the shores of Omaha Beach widely due to public interest and petition. The sculpture has been described as a blend of art and nature and has been able to withstand the forces of nature surprisingly well.
