Boxing Day Snowfall
Derby 4F 43924 at the head of the Worth Valley’s Mince Pie specials today, working through a Wintery West Yorkshire landscape at Top Field, near Oxenhope...
Given that it is nearly spring, the Kangaroos were getting a bit animated with these two boxing and kicking at each other on the side of the hill. Eventually they moved down the other side, out of sight, but the boxing match lasted several minutes.
My zoom lens was not quite long enough to get any closer.
For some reason the buds on this plant remind me of boxing gloves. I saw this in the Mediterranean Biome at the Eden Project

Dogmersfield is a small village lying between the towns of Fleet and Hartley Wintney in north east Hampshire.
In Japan, it is customary to present quality products in a quality packaging.
In the case (pun intended!) of this ink stick (Sumi in Japanese), the wooden box has probably been carefully trimmed flush with a wood plane in the expert hands of a craftsman, who made sure that the lid fits perfectly on the box with a satisfying "swoosh" sound...

Dorian Darch vs Imantas Davidaitis
Whenever I saw Welshman Dorian Darch fight, it was always a blood bath. I think he was one of the guys who cut easily. Here blood streams from a cut as he punches his opponent.
I digress a bit here but I recall the story of a boxing referee who claimed he got HIV from blood spatter in the ring. Easy to understand how that might be true when you see stuff like this. Nowadays, boxers are tested regularly to try to protect from this and I recall a boxer being denied the right to fight by the British Boxing Board of Control because of blood results, Even as a ringside photographer, so further away than the ref, I have had blood spatter go on my face and my camera. Not nice either which way!
This is pro boxing. In white-collar boxing, they don't blood test regularly like pro boxing does so there are even more dangers than just being poorly regulated. Tend to be less blood though at those fights. Just as well.

Our house remained in the mist all Boxing day but a short walk uphill took us into the sunshine - if only for a brief time.

Boxing Hares by Hamish Mackie.
There isn't a description of this piece on the Hares of Hampshire website so I had a look on Hamish Mackie's site where it is titled Hares Monumental:

There is a new art trail in Southampton and Winchester this summer. For ten weeks Hares of Hampshire will bring thirty-two large hares and forty-two leverets to the streets, parks, galleries and shops of the two cities.
All money raised by donations and by the auction of the hares at the end of the summer will go to the Murray Parish Trust.
Boxing Hares stands 11.5 feet high and is on display outside John Hansard Gallery for the duration of the art trail.
My first visit to the Boxing Gloves on the Northern Edge of Kinder, Its an area that I've just dismissed over the years, always going some place else.
The evening light was forecasted, but as time ticked on it didn't seem like it was going to produce any light, then all of a sudden it broke through the clouds and gave some strong sidelight for 30 minutes.
I decided upon this composition because the rocks and the middle distance are lit up with that lovely glow.
I might share some others, but for now, I'm just enjoying being active again.

The Boxing Gloves on Kinder Scout. Got here as the light went so no e of the great side lighting seen in other pics. One to go back to in the next couple of weeks before it stops getting direct light
New P&S camera came home yesterday afternoon and this is one of the first photos. Taken 5 minutes from home early morning. Made Explore.
Ok, my first attempts are all unsharp in the poor light but I'll have another go soon now I have a better measure of things. This is Ben at Ultimate Boxing in Congleton.
I used a Grey Smudge in PicMonkey. The white lines across the frame are actually the out-of focus ropes of the boxing ring I was shooting through.
