The original image is of Mary’s Shell and a gentleman taken on the beach at Cleveleys, Lancashire, UK. Boxing Day Blues refers to me passing the time of day while waiting for a family gathering for a Boxing Day meal; it does not refer to the day on which the photograph was taken. Me just messing around in Lightroom and PS.....!

For some reason the buds on this plant remind me of boxing gloves. I saw this in the Mediterranean Biome at the Eden Project
Another take from my boxing day outing with camera.
Taken in Dogmersfield.
Dogmersfield is a small village lying between the towns of Fleet and Hartley Wintney in north east Hampshire.
Professional boxing in Gloucester, England - title fight between Danny Carter and Andy Keates
I thought I had a black and white edit of this shot but I didn't... (I guess I liked it better at the time in colour as you can see all the blood splatter from Danny's mouth in glorious technicolour) so here it is... a new edit in glorious monochrome

i've created a group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...
Dorian Darch vs Imantas Davidaitis
Whenever I saw Welshman Dorian Darch fight, it was always a blood bath. I think he was one of the guys who cut easily. Here blood streams from a cut as he punches his opponent.
I digress a bit here but I recall the story of a boxing referee who claimed he got HIV from blood spatter in the ring. Easy to understand how that might be true when you see stuff like this. Nowadays, boxers are tested regularly to try to protect from this and I recall a boxer being denied the right to fight by the British Boxing Board of Control because of blood results, Even as a ringside photographer, so further away than the ref, I have had blood spatter go on my face and my camera. Not nice either which way!
This is pro boxing. In white-collar boxing, they don't blood test regularly like pro boxing does so there are even more dangers than just being poorly regulated. Tend to be less blood though at those fights. Just as well.

Kelly Morgan v Klaudia Vigh pro boxing
Behind Klaudia, who was put down in the first round, is the Boxing Board doctor. To the left, the guy in the blue shirt is Kelly's cornerman/trainer who is about to prepare for victory to be officially announced.

I went for a walk with my family and our forest is still covered with snow and thick ice. The ponies were trying to scrape the ground to forage, hopefully the thaw will come soon to help them.
This beautiful mare seemed so perfect for a Christmas picture.
Technically not the best but what a pleasure to witness and capture, 2 mountain hares pairing up and boxing, clumps of fur drifting onto the heather moorland during the action... I can't help looking at this image and kicking myself for clipping the long ears off but it was all so sudden and fast paced...
The Boxing Gloves on Kinder North Edge. I took about 6 shots in portrait mode and bracketed each shot then used HDR Panorama function in Lightroom to stitch it all back together. It was one of those evenings that lifts the spirits. What a great place to be and so good that i can get into this landscape in 20 minutes from home. Love it
