Leominster Signal Box on the Welsh Marches line still pretty busy and controlling an array of semaphores at the south end of the station.
I bought these metal pencil boxes about 25 years ago in Brownsville Texas at a discount store on Palm Blvd. Charming mis-interpretation into English.
Top Box: "We're happy on every respect on opening. I was surprised thatthe dox was full of love."
Bottom Box: "Why do you walk so onesided, my child? It is far more becming to go straightforward."

My Great-grandfather made this wooden box-it dates from late Victorian,I guess. It nearly falls apart.
For many years now I keep my art cards in it.
It's one of my treasures, and it tells me how old I am!
I was a bit alarmed when I saw that there was a huge dent in the side of the box. I'm happy to say that none of the key were damaged.
For comparison to the non-HDR photo look here (Fyi : for those not familiar with HDR : you combine multiple photos to get the one hdr tonemapped picture then you must adjust as needed ) static.flickr.com/73/190104199_457f65b27f_b.jpg
Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

I next cut out tracing paper and taped it to the cut outs using white duct tape. Note I taped on the outside of the box.
For all the Mia and Me fans, here's Yuko still in her box :3 I think she's very pretty and detailed :0

Early 20th century patinated bronze stamp box with sterling silver ornamentation produced by the Heintz Art Metal Shop of Buffalo, NY.
Just finished a pair of tissue boxes made out of glass tile, which was really nice to work with. Each time I try something new, I learn a little more, and I'm looking forward to working on a third...
This Box Turtle has taken up residence in my ground bird bath. He is in the bath every day and often completely submerged. His little head pokes out for a breath of air on occasion and then he is back to his cool shady bath :)
