time is passing by way too fast
the past week hasn't been a good one. It was full of pain in the arse and worries.
What you can see in here is our little Gecko lady Getrud in a box under a lamp (to give her at least a little bit of warmth). She suffered from necrosis in her tail after she had been bitten by her sister in a little fight a few days before. She needed to see a doctor the first time (and hopefully the last) in her life. Was a bit complicated though because, of course, the qualified reptile vet wasn't available at that time so that other vets tried their best during the days until the specialist came back. Now she's fine again. She still is 'in quarantine' in her box for a few days until we put her back into the terrarium.

Kate, Mary, Ron and Susan were the laborers carrying in boxes and furniture, while Rick worked the truck
No chasing involved here, just lucky enough to see this beauty while I was waliking a trail. They have been in decline due to pet traders loss of habitat and automobiles.
Somewhat of a rare box type, and this box is also rare. Letters are going to be the only thing that fit inside here; though some small padded envelopes would probably fit as well.
I covered this box using pages from a very old childrems book that I found at a boot sale. I then added a vintage sewing pattern, some old used and pretty stamps, an image from a tarot card, a few vintage buttons, a cameo, some stickers, scrapbooking paper and ribbon.I then covered the whole thing with clear varnish.

Some old Leica lens boxes. This is from Midland Canada plant, before Leica decided to sell Elcan (E Leitz Canada) to Hughes Aircraft in 1990.
My model / seascape set up is finally finished, the last bit of work was the construction of the display case which is 88cms long, 17cms wide and 20cms high and made of perspex, wood and plastic, with led lighting.
One thing I am particularly pleased with is the bow wave and wake which I finished in a luminous white paint, which glows in the dark. Proof that I am just a big kid. lol

Box purchased from www.hellraiserpuzzlebox.com/ many, many years ago.
He also has an ebay store linked on that site. It's a great box, not really a "box" though, solid wood with brass plates.
Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

A window box in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. I almost deleted this in my camera -- it looked overexposed. So glad I didn't! I really love the bokeh in the background.
Okay, my flower-wise friends -- I admit to confusing salvia and lavender. Which one is this? [edit: seems the consensus is lavender! -- any tips on how to tell the difference other than scent? -- does salvia have a square stem?]
Long exposure of the Roomba (vacuum cleaner) doing its thing. I put a board across its path so it was confined to a smaller triangle. Notice the spots where it started to do the spiral thing.
The Carolina Theatre just sent me an email asking if I want to upgrade my tickets to the new $250 Legacy Box Seats. It was illustrated with this image.
Mashed-up masterpiece :-)
