This art box is about 8.5" tall. It's an old wooden pencil box which I filled with school related stuff.
Radical slogans like "Equal Protection" and "Due Process" are festooned on the outside of the boxes.
Typical storage boxes contain your items, but the inside becomes cluttered – making it difficult to find what you need. Rubbermaid’s Bento collection is designed to organize items, rather than just store them. The Bento Boxes have internal flex dividers, which enable you to divide the space by creating unique sections when needed. Boxes can stack vertically, or fit inside each other. Bento Trays can act as trays or covers, providing an extra layer of organization for the Bento Boxes, or hiding what’s inside. The Bento Collection is made from sturdy materials, and the heavy-duty decorative fabric enables it to remain out in your social spaces while complementing your home’s décor.

From a book (Impressionist Garden Gift Boxes) of punch-out-easy-to-assemble small gift boxes. There were 18 and these are the last four. I have never seen a book of them since. The book was crazy expensive but I found it on a reduced-to-clear table at a bookstore. One of those good finds. The promo says - Perfect for candies, jewellery, love notes, small gifts, special treasures.

This is the only damage that made it through both the outer and inner boxes. Nothing damaged inside though.
Restored AA Box 335 Moxhall Fork, situated in its original location at Grange Farm, Wishaw now just off the insection of the A446 and A4091 near to The Belfry Golf Complex.
Restored and re-errected by Kevin Wilkes, of Grange Farm. The original box stood for many years on the fork of the two A roads, but had been removed.
With the reprofiling of the junction, due to the building of the M6 toll road, the land on which it had stood became part of Grange Farm.
After a lot of research by Kevin, and some lucky finds the box has now been found, restored and returned to its original position.
The box is complete with contents, working phone and even lit up at night.
Good job. Kevin

John makes the leather handles that I use as seen here. He's selling locks and clasps now too. I think these are the original clasps and lock on this box that he cleaned up, but he can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in the comments.
A present of my girl friends mum ... a heirloom. At all in a very good condition in this age, she has only some abrasions at the borders.

This is a box of Tesco chocolates, it contains thirty very nice chocolates weighing 350grams. They are good value at £3 a box. I bought them for me :)
However, the wrapping with all the "nutritional" information says that there are ten servings in the box … does that mean that I'm only allowed to eat three and then put the box away ? Oh woe:(
Inside a magic shop, cut in half! This was the first photo I tried tweaking the environment before taking the snapshot. There's another where Hilly actually looks dead - her eyes are closed and her skin pale, but you can't really tell what's going on with the box, so I chose this one.

This piece was my entry for Reinventing The Box, the conference exhibition at the second Ravensdale, in Olympia, WA in 1998.
This view shows the box with its black-and-white panels on the outside, and the open lid gives a peek at the more colourful canework inside. With the temporary sliding out of a few key aluminum pins, the entire box can be unfolded, laid flat, flipped over, and reassembled in reverse, to feature the colourful canework on the exterior, and hide the monochromatic panels inside.

On a lark I bought this box on eBay for, I think $10.00, and when I received it I really thought I'd overpaid. Note screen door handle.
Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

trio of origami gift boxes made out of lesson plans from my son's home school (i believe we have a science and a phonics lesson plan in these)
i marblized the paper using acrylic paints and then sealed the surface to protect the paint and add a bit of body to the paper.
each box is made of 3 parts. there is a liner box with a separate solid bottom piece and an outer box which ties closed with organza ribbon threaded through eyelets
