Pink skies at the Bosque...

An unbelievable pre-sunrise sky at the Bosque Del Apache Wildlife refuge 12-14-2021. The lenticular clouds just created a magnificent sky. The sandhill cranes and snow geese were still snoozing.

The weather was challenging, either cloudy and cold or windy. The last day warmed up a bit. This shot was just after dawn when the snow geese leave for the nearby agricultural fields to feast.

The Northern Pintail is one of my favorite winter visitors to Southern California and they always make my day - you know, one or two, or maybe a male/female pair. So on my epic sojourn to Bosque del Apache a few years ago, mostly to see the cranes, the bird numbers just blew me away.
