Snow Geese lifting off as one group and leaving the Sandhill Cranes behind. Shot at Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge.
This young coyote had been chasing geese around at Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge for some time. Disappeared for awhile and then he came walking down the road. He laid down right in the middle of the road and took a nap. Didn't seem to have a care in the world.
An incredible cold front came through the Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge while I was photographing. This was the leading edge of a large storm that brought cold temperatures, high winds, and snow across New Mexico.
Photo from Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge. There were a number of crows sitting in the tree and suddenly they all took wing except for one. The eagle landed. The eagle and the crow locked eyes for several minutes, during which the crow danced around a bit. Finally, the crow flew off and the eagle had the tree to itself.
Why did the turkey cross the road? Why did the chicken cross the road? I think this joke has run afowl.
