In El Ceibo, a Guatemalan town on the border with Mexico, UN Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees Kelly T. Clements is shown the route taken by those fleeing north. ; As thousands flee violent street gangs in Honduras and El Salvador for safety in neighbouring Mexico, UNHCR's Deputy Chief, Kelly T. Clements, visited Guatemala, a transit country on the northern migration route, to demonstrate UNHCR's commitment to supporting those displaced within the region and the country's hosting them. She visited refugee shelters and projects designed to provide employment to help refugees get back on their feet. She met with refugees who have fled their home countries because they were being threatened, blackmailed or forced into criminal activity. Displacement and asylum applications in Central America are growing year on year and UNHCR continues to work to improve financial support, legal aid and housing.

Bad Schandau, Eastern station end: In the foreground the tail of a waiting ERS shuttle from Melnik to Rotterdam can be seen. In the background the shuttle in opposite direction has just arrived and the driver is uncoupling it.

Bad Schandau has only a few tracks to park a goods. That means that trains may only make a short stop at Band Schandau. In this case, where two trains are exchanging locomotives, keeping schedule is very important. When a train is running late, the train in the opposite direction has to wait in, for instance, Decin, Heidenau or Dresden, where there is much more track capacity.

of many. The drive from Bangkok to Siem Reap actually wasn't as bad as everyone says. This was taken at our first rest stop on the Cambodian side, not far from the border. The road was like this most of the way to Siem Reap but I wasn't yet feeling the effects of my double dosage of malaria tablets.

Surprisingly, I did not get a dodgy stomach once. However, I was nauseated every day after this which resulted in some horrible motion sickness.

I was also asked for a bribe at HCMC (which I did not give) and got a fever and headache as soon as I arrived home. I feel horrible and am waiting for the results of blood tests to confirm whether I have malaria, dengue fever or the flu. It's probably the flu, but better to be safe than drop dead one day on the way to work.

Also, I kept leaving my C-PL filter on the camera, resulting in loads of gross soft focus pictures that I doubt can be salvaged. ARGH

ETA: I do not have malaria. Not sure about dengue though
