Exam work for Typography Classes of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. The final task has been defined as a complete cover, front and body matter design of a fictional book series – entitled the self-explanatory ”Világirodalmi könyvsorozat” (World Literature Book Series) – of novels from the literature history of the world.

Mindy Housman, A Celebration is a book we designed for our client to commemorate her mother’s 60th birthday. This 40 page book is a combination of notes and images put together by her friends and family. Each page contained an image and a note. Keeping with the black and gold theme of her birthday, we converted all the images to black and white, and designed the pages to be a combination of black, white and gold.

An 826 Seattle project, this time collecting the writing of students (aged 10-13) on the subject of overcoming one's fears. So I say, how about a maze with an icon representing one story in each of the seven chapters of the book? Sounds good.
How about I ask the talented Dan Zettwoch to draw it so it's a little less gloomy than my mouse-drawn comp and then I'll tighten up the typography? Sounds even better, they say, the kids thought the comp was a bit gloomy.
So I ask Dan and he does it in a day. Then I say, hey do you think you could draw me some treasure to put in the lower corner for balance? And he does that right away too. Thanks Dan!
