A macro shot of the uma ('bridge') and the chiiga ('body'). You can see that this is a very nice sanshin, as it is made with actual snakeskin.

Eeehp, she finally has a body! After a lot of debating with myself I decided on a Dollstown Elf body, and oh my goodness, I'm so happy with it! The match isn't 100% perfect, but I really couldn't care less, the proportions and everything are better than I could ever imagine. <3
The call came over NYPD radio as a water rescue/body in the water.
NYPD Harbor Patrol use the hook to secure the body, still alive, from the East River.
I'm inclined to believe the hand grasping the boat is that of another Harbor Patrol officer.
Sample Body Butter that will be demonstrated at the Women's Workshop later this month. (aka Super Saturday)

This beautiful gal has had a restyle and a re-body onto a Brides of Dracula body. :)
I haven't been able to paint much recently. I'm training as a massage therapist, so not only has my time become incredibly limited, working full time and trying to learn anatomy and physiology in my spare time, but also my painting studio (back bedroom) has become the massage treatment room.
However I am trying to do a quick sketch a day to keep my hand in. I have an online photo journal which they go up on (whether good or bad... quite often disasterous!). But I feel as if Flickr has become a bit neglected lately, so here's a couple of the 'better; sketches to keep it ticking over, until I get time for a more sustained painting (they are brewing nicely in my head!)
Seated captive
1st–2nd century AD
Provenance: body found in 1767, together with two columns and a cup carved from the same material
Green breccia marble from Wadi Hammamat (Egypt)
H. 1.63 m
The head covered with a Phrygian cap dates from the 2nd century AD and is reminiscent of the famous “Prisoners” in the Palazzo Farnese; the latter, who probably represent defeated Dacians, are thought to date from the reign of Trajan and may well come from the Forum of Trajan itself (AD 98–117).
The body probably dates from the 1st century AD and represents a defeated Oriental. The reassembled statue stood at the centre of the “Room of the Conquered Barbarian King” in the villa built in Rome for Cardinal Albani (1692–1779).
The head and the hands did not originally belong to the statue.
Albani collection
Cardinal Alessandro Albani (1692–1779), the nephew of Pope Clement XI, was one of the greatest collectors in 18th-century Rome. The collection he installed in the Villa de la Porta Salaria, inaugurated in 1763, was widely studied. It was there that Winckelmann and Cavaceppi laid the foundations for modern art history and restoration. The Albani collection was confiscated by France in 1797 in accordance with the Treaty of Tolentino. It was returned to its owner in 1815, but Louis XVIII bought back twenty antique sculptures, while the Louvre kept certain items in exchange for other works.
