Kayla is rarely ever seen outside of her lab. Though what she is doing in there, is something she keeps secret. Rarely letting anyone into the lab without being sure her research is secure. Though there is a few people she doesn't mind letting it; knowing they won't know what her notes say.
Hardly getting out, she has very few friends and instead has a tight knit group of people she works with. All of them part of the moving Colony in Kathryn's ship. Martin being one of the only people who comes regularly to visit her. And help her unwind with a good time.
Assignment: Draw or digitally design a circle. Fill in the circle with the color or colors that reflect the way your body feels today. I’m feeling particularly charged today. At certain points of the day I’ve been very tired and achy, and at one point I had a headache, and at other points during the day I had no pain and felt well. I couldn’t decide on a particular color, and I originally started making this picture with a green circle, but I decided it seemed too melancholy for what I was trying to get at. At a certain point my desire to create an interesting piece of art overcame my intention of creating a piece that reflects the way my body feels today, but I feel like this is still accurate.
We went to Mendo Bistro in Fort Bragg for dessert. The Ogre had an awesome combo called "Chocolate Indecision", mini versions of 4 different chocolate desserts, while I had peach crisp with frozen pink peppercorn souffle. Both were excellent, but mine was not only om nom nom good, but creative and unusual.
While waiting for dessert, I got out crayons. I had not thought about what it might mean if I were to do this in front of an artist. He went to town and did a quick sketch of a dragon, covering most of his side of the table. A little boy at a nearby table had to come over and look.
I am considering only taking him to restaurants that have paper table clothes and crayons in the future, because it was just so much fun.
