Why was the word "idyll" so important to Tereza?
Raised as we are on the mythology of the Old Testament, we might say that an idyll is an image that has remained with us like a memory of Paradise: life in Paradise was not like following a straight line to the unknown; it was not an adventure. It moved in a circle among known objects. Its monotony bred happiness, not boredom.
....
It is completely selfless love: Tereza did not want anything of Karenin; She did not ever ask him to love her back. Nor has she ever asked herself the questions that plague human couples: Does he love me? Does he love anybody more than me? Does he love me more than I love him? Perhaps all the questions we ask of love, to measure, test, probe, and save it, have the additional effect of cutting it short. Perhaps the reason we are unable to love is that we yearn to be loved, that is, we demand something (love) from our partner instead of delivering ourselves to him demand-free and asking for nothing but his company.

I originally had this photograph sharpened, then when I accidentally applied this filter I loved it! I think it adds to the entire concept of the photograph.
“Each new generation is a fresh invasion of savages”

This body of work is a comment on our society and how big co-operations and steel works are effecting us. The way in which the industry is going it is like we have gone back to the stone age like when man discovered fire, shown in the photographs of the flames.
The models are some friends of mine and are represent the adolesncent youth who are the future. We are seen as savges and this is shown by the reference to cannibalism. The meat was brought from the local butcher's and they are covered in blood (mixed paint and water) and mud.

If you've ever seen art and stiching of the Andean (indeginous people of central america) it looks strikingly similar to that of Hmong people. It's pretty amazing how two different ethnic groups located on opposite ends of the planet produce such similar displays of art and culture.
