1953 Nash-Healey “LeMans” Coupe

The 1953 model year saw the introduction of a new closed coupe alongside the roadster. Capitalizing on the 3rd place finish at Le Mans by a lightweight racing Nash-Healey purpose-built for the race, the new model was called the "Le Mans" coupe. Nash had already named the powerplant the "Le-Mans Dual Jetfire Ambassador Six" in 1952, in reference to the previous racing exploits of the lightweight competition cars.
Some describe the new design as "magnificent". Stylistically, the Nash-Healey Coupe is the culmination of Pinin Farina's concept, a substantially different design that traded the convertible's top-down flair for the elegance and integrated design of a coupe designed by a master. This headlight mounting was described as "Safety-Vu" concentrating illumination, and their low position increased safety under foggy situations.
The 1953 "Le Mans" model was awarded first prize in March of that year in the Italian International Concours d'Elegance held at Tresa, Italy. A mere 60 coupes were produced in 1953, totaling only 150 units constructed during the two years of production.
Chassis No. 3018: This elegant numbers-matching example benefits from an older full ground-up restoration. During the restoration, the car was carefully revived to period specifications and finished in correct Sunset Maroon with matching maroon interior upholstery. This multiple show winner and magazine feature car presents well with very minor aging throughout. Eligible for many important events such as Mille Miglia, along with its rarity and design, ensure it will bring admiring looks and comments wherever it appears.
