Meet you at the bird bath says the Spangled Drongo (left) to the Blue-faced Honeyeater aka Banana bird. Seen in a garden near Katherine NT, Australia. The weather right now in the Buildup before Wet season rains hopefully arrive in several months is hot - predicted 43'C or 109'F today again - so the bird baths are very popular. It's no time to get fussy about your drinking companions.

The ST-9600 is the tuner from the first series of Technics high-end components in the dark design and 19" versions of the 70's. A five gang variable capacitor secures sensitive, selective sharp reception. Everything on board is what makes a quality tuner.

The high engineering effort in design is typical for the time when the used material apparently played no role. The carefully attached real dialglass and solid aluminum front panel is a highlight for the eyes in the living area.

Dominated by the 19-inch handles are typical left and right. Technics has been able to set the time, even without the trendy blueface design (blackout-scale) is a milestone in the serious hi-fi segment. A true classic in the typical Technics look.

I prefer this design, more like the trendy gimmicks or eye-catching chrome looks with modern plastic flashdisplay.

One big poofy skein of happy.

Fortunately, we had only one set of tripletts this year. The mom is a cross of BFL and Gotland.

Blue-faced Honeyeater living up to it's other name in this area of the Banana-bird as it jealously guards and eats bananas once the hands are ripe. Here it's snacking on the female flowers inside the male bell part of the banana flower They also eat insects and sometimes even small lizards.

One of the famous Pioneer blueface family of the early 70's. I like the clean design. With the power of 30 watts pc it was in the middle class of the line. It sounds a little smooth. There are wonderful wooden cheeks at both sides.

About The Blue-faced Honeyeater

The Blue-faced Honeyeater (Entomyzon cyanotis), also colloquially known as Bananabird, is a passerine bird of the Honeyeater family Meliphagidae commonly found around the northern and eastern coasts of Australia and New Guinea. The only member of its genus, it is most closely related to honeyeaters of the genus Melithreptus. Three subspecies are recognised. It is large for a honeyeater and easily identified by its bare blue face-patch. Found in open woodland, parks and gardens, its diet is made up of nectar and invertebrates.

Small and unobtrusive, I wasn't sure what sort of parrot this was when I first saw some walking on the ground on a rocky Port Lincoln beach, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. It is an adult Rock Parrot, Neophema petrophila, which is really hard to spot because of its dull olive-green colour, its quiet call while feeding, and because it feeds low to the ground on grass seeds, shrubs, and succulent plants in coastal habitats.

They were very active in the park, on our morning walk.

The Blue-faced Honeyeater is a large black, white and golden olive-green honeyeater with striking blue skin around the yellow to white eye. The crown, face and neck are black, with a narrow white band across the back of the neck. The upperparts and wings are a golden olive green, and the underparts are white, with a grey-black throat and upper breast. The blue facial skin is two-toned, with the lower half a brilliant cobalt blue. Juvenile birds are similar to the adults but the facial skin is yellow-green and the bib is a lighter grey. This honeyeater is noisy and gregarious, and is usually seen in pairs or small flocks. It is known as the Banana-bird in tropical areas, for its habit of feeding on banana fruit and flowers.
