The light was fading on this winter's afternoon when I photographed an oriental turtle dove making its way through foliage, foraging for food.

I like that the light has brought out the blues on the plumage, these birds can often be more of a soft orange colour.

Lake Barkley

Canton Kentucky

Trigg County

Photo taken June 15, 2021

A pleasing view of Lake Barkley taken from under the Lake Barkley Bridge on US 68, just minutes after sunset on a cloudless evening, the horizon has a mauve glow.

A few things have fascinated me ever since I was a boy. The Colosseum is one of them. I had seen it once before, but never photographed it seriously, and I was looking very much forward to photograph it this time. But I seem to suffer from a disease. The scaffolding disease. I have a long list of World famous locations I have seen, covered in scaffolding. However, the Coloseum is big, and they had not covered everything. I managed to get this shot, without too much scaffolding.

Bluejays are smart, funny, chatty and very bluetiful.

"To me, photography is an art of observation. (...) I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."

Berlin, Radialysystem. Re-edited.

Architect: Gerhard Spangenberg, Berlin.

Radialsystem is a cultural space in Berlin, a place for performing arts, music and dance in the first place. Its architectural core is a an ancient water pumping station at the side of the Spree. The old and partly war destroyed building has been completed as well as contrasted by a modern building designed by the Berlin based architect Gerhard Spangenberg. Read more:

Nothing like watching geese fly west to roost at night. They are a beautiful noisy lot communicating every turn and Ariel formation. I was the only person on the beach to witness their splendor.

Edit done with Afterlight. Was in a dreamy kind of mood.

Nighttime view looking south from the 86th-floor observatory of the Empire State Building, showing the One Vanderbilt building. At night, this skyscraper transforms into a striking beacon on the New York City skyline, its sleek glass façade reflecting the city’s shimmering lights. The crown of the skyscraper glows with an elegant blue illumination, casting a calm yet captivating presence against the dark sky. This vivid blue light accentuates the tower’s sharp architectural lines, making it stand out amidst the surrounding skyscrapers.
