You'll have to excuse me...I'm starting to sort through some of my archives once again. It's hard to believe this was taken nearly seven years ago! Wow! Where has the time gone?!
This was taken back in Washington State, of course...and it was surprisingly warm (or warm enough) for us to be able to be out on the beach in February. This was Valentine's Day, 2015. Cape Disappointment...it was no disappointment! :)

Looking across to the Southwark side of Blackfriars from The Embankment in The City during the blue hour, just after the sun had set. The 'Vase' apartment building (No 1 Blackfriars) dominates the skyline here although it appears to have a smaller sibling being constructed adjacently.

It’s the 11th hour. Ninety-Eight years of legacy N&W signaling is about to come to an end as modern equipment, ready and waiting, is just days away from taking over service at Loch Laird. The west end of the siding was one of the least shot signals on the Valley, mostly due to its ‘relative’ inaccessibility and non-original modifications, but it was amongst my favorite locations to shoot. Though the bracket was original, the CPL heads were of Safetran origin; one of the very few examples of this type of signal anywhere on the former N&W. On November 19th, the stretch between Glasglow and Loch Laird were cut-over, inclusive of Emil.
Cut-over work on the Shenandoah Valley began early 2022, but the process has been slow. Even in 2026, quite a few N&W brackets remain, though many great shots, like the one at Loch Laird, have been lost to the wind

A view looking west from the Congress Avenue (Bat) Bridge during Blue Hour. The body of water in front of us is Lady Bird Lake, a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River. On the north shore of the lake is downtown Austin.
This view looks toward the Seaholm District, a former industrial section of southwest downtown Austin that has undergone a dramatic transformation into a vibrant, mixed-use urban neighborhood. The diagonally-shaped building with the reddish pyramid dome is Google's new Austin office headquarters. Straight ahead is the First Street Bridge with its below deck level pedestrian walkway.
Following a recent upload where a dog was a bit of a challenge, I only thought it fair to address the balance and highlight the human challenge us Togs find ourselves in on occasions.
On this particular evening the human challenge came on two fronts, first the local weather man forecasted a wonderful sunset (this later turned out to be a Michael Fish moment as you will see)
As time went on it was clear there was to be no sunset as such, so I thought I would try a few test compositions for when I return on other nights.
I went down the back of the slipway so there were no footprints in the sand where I set up.
My second challenge came when my attention was drawn to a person some 100mts plus away, who was looking down texting and ear plugs in from their mobile phone.
Other walkers had kindly seen what I was doing and left the beach up the front of the slipway.
The person on the phone totally oblivious kept walking head down straight towards me, I thought how long before they realise I am here !
This is another location we are so lucky to have close by, the beautiful Camel Estuary. Moored on the left of the shot is The Jubilee Queen which has been in service for forty years taking people out on pleasure trips.
