This was the first shot I took with my new lens and the last shot that I took with my ND4 soft grad as it shattered of the rocks. Reasonably pleased with the results, note to one self dont track backwards on slippy rocks!

This is something I did for fun. I got some food coloring and dropped a few drops in a glass of water.

Taken at Ynysymaengwyn woodland area. Such a bright and colourful little bird.

Really overcast conditions which wasn't ideal.

Here is my third release from Lofoten. This is the famous "eye" of Uttakleiv Beach. I've always wanted to put together a counterpart to Snow Globe, my favorite image, and thought this trip could help me try another one. Yosemite will always have the soft spot in my heart, but this place was just incredible too. Hope you enjoy!

For those interested, this image was made from two exposures. For the first one, I used a Big Stopper to force a long exposure, and I jerked the tripod out of position towards the end of the exposure to get a natural stormy, softening effect. For the second frame, I used a flash for the falling snow (visibility was a bit lower).

Happy Monday!

For Our Daily Challenge: In The Air

I spent part of the afternoon kneeling in a meadow trying to photograph bluetailed dragonflies in flight. Fortunately, though they are very fast, they sometimes hover for a few moments in one place. But I discovered that they are still not easy to capture, at least for me. Out of nearly 100 clicks of the shutter, I got only a handful of shots that I felt were potentially usable. This is the best of those.
