Moon rising around 4:00 brighten up the sky as blue hours starting and Milky Way slowly fade away into the morning lights. Here’s a shot when the crescent moon meet the horizon. With Mercury on it’s right just above the mountain range.
Thanks for viewing!
For Our Daily Challenge: In The Air
I spent part of the afternoon kneeling in a meadow trying to photograph bluetailed dragonflies in flight. Fortunately, though they are very fast, they sometimes hover for a few moments in one place. But I discovered that they are still not easy to capture, at least for me. Out of nearly 100 clicks of the shutter, I got only a handful of shots that I felt were potentially usable. This is the best of those.
2015 Weekly Alphabet Challenge, C is for Change
These hydrangeas in the garden in Holland don't seem to be able to decide which colour they are or are going to be, so it looks as if they're changing colour all the time. Apparently all these hydrangeas start out as pink ones, but the final colouring has something to do with the amount of calcium in the soil. The image is a combination/merge of two photos of these flower heads.
I've just realised (through a sudden surge of faves) that this image has reached Explore, entering at # 76, thank you so much for the views, comments and faves !
Because of my upper right arm fractured in three places I've had to resort to some archive material. Hope to get back to normal photography shortly.
Lighting by one yongnuo 560II speedlight from underneath (backside) and another one from above (frontside) to lighten up the surface of the orange slices. Both on low power (1/128) and wide angle. Underneath softened by a opac acrylic plate and above by a sheet of translucent paper.

Drifting, dreaming
In an azure mood
Stardust gleaming
Through my solitude

It is autumn now and you can see that the butterfly is worn out, with weak color and some missing parts on the right wings.
Gorgeous beast but excessively difficult to get control over reflections & colors .....
