Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, operating since 1885, sits atop The Great Blue Hill, 635 feet above sea level. It is home to the oldest continuous weather record in North America.
Haven't been shooting much film as of late, but on this day I only took along my Fuji medium format camera (forgetting to take a light meter with me, of course) as I hiked up to get this picture.

Thraupis episcopus
As gorgeous as a greyish blue sky, the Blue Jean roams many a garden throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Common but by no means ordinary, this Tanager is a species that can be found from Mexico to Northern Brazil. You may have wondered why the Blue-Grey Tanagers in Tobago seem brighter. Well, wonder no more. This is due to the fact that separate subspecies exist in Trinidad and Tobago. The subspecies found in Trinidad is Thraupis episcopus sesophila while the ones in Tobago like this one, of the subspecies Thraupis episcopus berlepschi, are brighter in colour with a darker blue rump and shoulder patch.

Drive wheel of a construction vehicle for laying tram tracks. This irregular spiral was caught in a very powerful sun this afternoon.
This is a giant coke man, made out of recycled coke crates. He sits in the Waterfront in Cape Town.
If he could speak, I think he would say: "Hell yeah!" :)
I crocheted this rug with yarn I hand-cut from thrift store t-shirts and a sheet. Measures 22" in diameter.
Blue Whale carcass at Bean Hollow Beach. As we were about to pack up our gear and head home, 2 tourists came up to us and asked if we had seen the blue whale carcass that was apparently at the beach. Upon hearing this, we scrambled our way back down to the beach. At first we didn't see anything but soon we began smelling something very fishy. Around a rocky corner, we saw the carcass beached inside a small cove. This whale was huge. According to news articles, this whale was also pregnant with an unknown cause of death. Reports also stated the whale was supposed to have been removed during the day but to our luck she remained long enough for us to photograph her.
