dense fog this morning, the bluehour heralded no dawn just offered a blue blanket. I was alone entirely 5am on St Mary's beach save for the birds, not even the Lighthouse herself was visible. only 20 metres of causeway showing and the feeling was one of exceptional simplicity, serenity, and peace.

Have printed this both ways as I like the square that shows in the thumbnail too.

I went to High Beeches yesterday to see how the autumn colour is coming along (it's just starting), but I was struck by the beautiful blue of these berries. Usually, when I don't know what a tree is at High Beeches I find out it comes from the Himalyas, so it's not surprising I don't recognise it. :))

Blue Tit [Cyanistes caeruleus]

From a few weeks back - on a visit to Culzean Castle. I had been in the walled garden and when we came back to the car park, lots of little blue tits were darting in an out of the trees to get to the hanging feeders. I think this is just a youngster. Another tried to photobomb him...

I love these little birds!

Happy Macro Monday!

Edited to add: It was completely unintentional, but seeing this in my Photostream next to my other Macro Mondays shot for this week ("Sparkling"), they make a pretty good set. Ha!

Many thanks to those who comment on my photo's and/or add them as favourites

Here's another photo I took of a beautiful Blue Digger Wasp in my front yard in Maryland.

What do you think this is…..?
