Photo across Lake Tahoe taken from Nevada Beach on the East facing west.

This is a native plant to Wisconsin that is easy to overlook. If you happen to come across some relatively ordinary grass with little blue flowers, look closely and you'll find the flower is very showy. The flowers are roughly a half inch in diameter, but the shades of blue with a bright yellow center really stand out. It's not actually grass, but in fact, it's a member of the Iris family.

I believe this is Sisyrinchium campestre.

Yesterday I found a dead Blue Jay under my bird feeder...... )-:

Je ne suis pas très satisfaite du résultat cette fois, mais j'aime bien la couleur et la texture du cercle. Je ferai mieux la prochaine fois... :-)

I'm not satisfied with the result this time, but I like the color and the texture of the circle... I'll do my best next time :-)

blue flowers in the walled garden at Scotney Castle - no idea what they are. I thought they might be some kind of allium, but tthey don't quite look like others I've seen

Jamie Kelley has been telling me that my blue whale has the wrong proportions. And, since he had long ago lent me the National Geographic DVD, Kingdom of the Blue Whale, to help me understand them better, I finally watched it and reworked the design. Here is the result. It features the long, sleek lines of the whale. A better rendition and a better photo will follow.

The morning blue and calmness to see this bridge :) It is kinda tricky to take the long exposure shot with water and clouds. If the exposure time takes too long that you may not see the clouds movement but you will see the stillness water. One way the other :). One of my lucky snapshot in the morning :) I will come here to practice more when they have the the LED lights on in tomorrow 8:30pm. March 5th. The artistic patterns will light the bridge from dusk till 2am every night for 2 years.

When I focus on warblers on my April trip to Arizona each year, I never see Blue Grosbeaks. Going back to some of the same places in July, they seem to be everywhere!

Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center, Port Aransas, Texas

I saw lots of warblers during my recent trip to Texas. I think I enjoyed this one the most. He really put on a show for me.

the little guy with his back to us looks like an angel to me.

I just got some EL wire. (It's actually a knock off version that's probably much cheaper) As I was shooting this dump truck I thought it would be a good time to test it out. Works just as good, if not better than I thought. I like the smokey look it makes and I'm excited to add it into my light painting adventures. I made this from 5 different exposures. One for the stars, another for the truck which I painted with a big flash light and I also got some help from a car passing. And 3 shots for the smokey blue EL wire.
