Is it any wonder that a geometer loves quilt blocks? These blocks were all pieced by hand and measure 12 inches square plus a seam allowance.
Well here is a wonderful Altered Collage Art Crazy quilt block. I call this one *Scottie Dog.*
Free matching charm with purchase!
These are handcrafted by , Jordan Howard & Kim Howard. Each is created using fine silks, decortive stitches, ribbon, velvet, vintage style buttons, and so much more. Each comes with Swarovski crystal Rhinstones, these are the finest crystals in the world. Glitter is highlighting the background of the scottie.
This quilt block measures about 8 x 8 inches in size. Great for creating pillows, wall hanging, and many other great ideas! This is one of my favorites!
the taxi drivers shut down o'connell street (again) on march 9. i figured it was a fine time to take pictures of an empty street. it wasn't really empty, obviously.

Block 3
The quilt pattern is called "Cinco de Mayo" - so in honor of the fact that Vicki and my other children are of Mexican heritage on their father's side - I added this whimsical fabric as a focal to this block. Ole!
Millrose Block at 1-11 E. Wall in Fort Scott Kansas. It was built c.1890. The new block had a central stair in the west façade. It housed a grocery to the west with offices on the second floor. A telephone office and tailor occupied the two store fronts to the east facing Wall Street. In the April, 1899 Sanborn map, the grocery remained with the telephone office and gas company office to the east. The public library occupied the east half of the second floor. According to the 1909 city directory, this was known as the Redfield Building with the Fort Scott Safety Deposit & Storage Company at 1 E. Wall and the Fort Scott Building & Loan Association at 7 E. Wall.
It is a contributing building in the Fort Scott Downtown Historic District.

I know, how many blocks does a girl need? But these were so different from your usual alphabet block. I couldn't resist the color palette, the typeface OR the fact that my old maiden name initials were on the other sides of the blocks :)

A nicely blocked leg kick
Starting to come out from under wraps after a multi-year restoration has the building cleaned up nice! Hopefully they'll do just as good a job on the West Block.

For Jennifer--March is her month in the Coast to Coast Block Party Bee. She sent us Hushabye and family photos printed on fabric. Such a great idea!

For her month in Not Your Grandma's Quilting Bee (The Hive) Cindy provided sparkly purple fabric and asked that we add fabrics from our stash to make this specific block. She added that we could embellish the centre if we wanted.
Almost all of these fabrics are from my scrap bin. The applique is from the pattern Wish You Were Here by Don't Look Now.
