The 90th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, USA
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade presented by the U.S.-based department store chain Macy's. The tradition started in 1924.
The three-hour Macy's event is held in New York City starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and has been televised nationally on NBC since 1952.
The parade starts on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at w77th st and heads 2.5 miles to West 34th Street.
Macy's Herald Square is the largest department store in the world. The flagship store covers almost an entire New York City block, features about 1.1 million square feet of retail space, includes additional space for offices and storage, and serves as the endpoint for Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade.

A Saxton Block paver presumably from Canton, Ohio. This paver is broken in two, and bittle, but it is still very cool.
I couldn't find a lot out about the company other than a blurb about it's building burning to the ground on the night of December 8, 1900:

The last six blocks I worked on at the same time, as I was running out of fabric and had to plan nearly every single piece first. So it was out of necessity rather than a deliberate design decision to make this star four colours rather than two. But, that's the whole point of patchwork, isn't it?

La band nasce nel 2007 dalle ceneri dei Woptime. Vengono formati da Saverio Sgaramella (voce), attivo nella scena hardcore italiana sin dagli anni '80 (periodo d'oro di band come Negazione e Raw Power), nonchè uno dei più noti pro-skaters dell'epoca vantando esibizioni e gare a livello mondiale.
A pochi mesi dalla nascita la band diventa una delle più attive a livello di esibizioni dal vivo, costruendosi da sola, in un periodo dove chi paga si aggiudica il posto migliore in scaletta. Con un'attitudine che proviene dagli anni vissuti in strada, il sound dei Concrete Block riflette il malessere e l'angoscia di chi vive giorno per giorno con le spalle al muro, prendendo tutti i calci e i pugni che la vita riserva.
Dopo il primo MiniCD "Down With the Madness" uscito per Countdown Records in Luglio 2007, i Concrete Block suonano costantemente e condividono il palco con Sepultura, Sick Of It All, Murphy's Law, Maroon, Shattered Realm, Skarhead, Agnostic Front, The Business, Slapshot e tanti altri. Nel 2008 esce il loro primo vero full length "Life Is Brutal" (Countdown Records) prodotto da Daniele Giordana. Per molti questo disco diventa subito l'album hardcore italiano dell'anno.
Alla fine del 2009 dopo due dischi la line-up originale si scioglie, ma la band con una nuova formazione continua a suonare dal vivo. Dopo alcune date gloriose di nuovo assieme ad Agnostic Front e Skarhead arrivano problemi per Saverio, che convinto ad emigrare negli States viene bloccato in Italia per problemi tipo galera, carenza di una base monetaria, situazione lavorativa pessima ed un divorzio alle porte.
Dopo aver passato il periodo Saverio rimette in piedi la formazione con nuovi elementi, riprendono le prove, i concerti ed inizia la stesura di pezzi nuovi. Il bassista viene rimpiazzato perchè trova posto in un TV show come stand up commedia e l'album nuovo prende forma. Si arriva al 2013 con una piena attività live e "Twilight of the Gods", l'ultimo lavoro uscito per F.O.A.D. Records, registrato al One Black Sox studio da Carlo Girardi. E' la storia continua…

Bug blocks for Kris! Not quite finished with stitching around each shape, but wanted to get them posted!
41 Toy Blocks with Pine Box
Made from dimensional scraps of Hemlock, Cedar, and Fir, this set was inspired by both a cherished set of these I had when I was a kid, and a huge set of blocks I built for a local daycare many years ago. It gave me great joy to hear that those blocks were the most popular toy they had. In fact, those very blocks are still in use, but now in our kid’s playroom!
Since this set of blocks are made from scraps you can still see on some the “miller’s mark”, dings, and hammer marks relating their history.
While slivers have never been an issue for us, to keep the risk of slivers or snagging splinters of such softwoods to a minimum I have rubbed the blocks with a safe, food-grade wax used in the finishing of wooden salad bowls.
The box was constructed from warped pine scraps bound for someone’s woodstove. I made the top easy for a child to not only pick up, but also to put back on the box. The box was designed to be big enough to toss the blocks inside willy-nilly for fast clean up, and I attached handles to the sides to ease the burden of parents carrying this box from room to room.
Aside from the random blocks, the set includes two arches, two half moons, two triangles, and six columns. This set has been SOLD.
