A couple of shots today showing the modern architecture in Paddington Basin, London. Seems to work best in B&W.
I've posted these buildings before, but not with the Fuji X-T1.
Here are some of the first blocks I've made for my month in my quilting bee. Can't wait to see what the other members create!
The intension was to focus on the block and fingers while keeping everything else out of focus.
Did not come out very well though.

We spend a goodly amount of time in a booth at the antique mall last weekend looking for blocks to spell out Space Gun and Sew Pixie. :)

The Masonic Block (1881) at the northeast corner of Sibley Street & East 3rd Street in downtown Hastings, Minnesota. Formerly home to Hastings' Masonic Temple on the third floor, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing member of the East 2nd Street Commercial Historic District.
Some of the Soviet era apartment blocks have been painted and updated, like this one. I believe it was located along "Stanislawa Konarskiego." However, this is done from memory and looking at a map that's been photocopied a few dozen times too many.

Offset to one side this Block in Cinder is quite elegant and simple. The legs have been cut to allow for a tv over top. With a mantel depth of 6" this provides plenty of protection from heat of the fireplace.
I’m hoping this is cinema film related and not an election poster advertising some rather violent characters in this rather rich tapestry of life - and death.
Strange but each (male) character seems to sport exactly the same style of moustache, almost as if they have been added in post processing.

For her block in A Quilting Journey Round Robin Bee Cindy's inspiration block was a tradtional block with some appliqué featuring soft colours.
This block is "Rose Trellis" from "Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 1." I used Strawberry Fields by Fig Tree Fabrics for Moda. I have never used Fig Tree fabrics before and I had thought that they weren't my style (not modern enough.) However, the colours and prints are so pretty that I think I will have to make a quilt out of them some day. I love the vintage scrappiness of this block.
Block 25 at BIa sector of Birkenau camp (also known as the block of death) was called “waiting room for the gas” (Warteblock für die Vergasung). After chasing all the prisonersback to the camp a special group of the strongest women was formed and forced to collect all remaining corpses of women who had died under the blows of the SS and female guards during the roll call. The corpses were placed in the courtyard of block 25.
This is a building in Glendale, the top floors of which are clad in mirrored glass that recedes is a stairstep fashion. This was taken from my car while stopped in traffic. I'd like to go back with my long lens and get some different perspectives on this same building. I'm sure it's good for other interesting fragmented views.
Note the Gang Graffiti on the left... the gangbangers have been in here since the January visit. There were booze bottles scattered throughout Blocks B/C and in the Woolworth court, some half-full.
