A bit of pond life today, as one went in search of dragonflies after work.
And joy of joys - patience was rewarded with not only a number of static shots, but also a couple of flying shots of a four-spotted chaser in flight! Don't ask if it is male or female - I ain't got a clue!

Demi Lovato eliminó su perfil de Twitter este fin de semana. Su repentina salida fue tras burlarse del rapero británico 21 Savage después que fuera detenido este fin de semana por el servicio de inmigración estadounidense al haber sobrepasado la estancia en el país que le permitía su visa.
El comentario en cuestión generó una oleada de indignación contra la artista fue: “Hasta ahora los memes de 21 Savage han sido mi parte favorita de la Super Bowl “. Casi al instante, el perfil de la estrella del pop comenzó a llenarse de comentarios -incluido uno de Offset, amigo personal del detenido- que le reprochaban que se atreviera a burlarse de un compañero de profesión en un momento tan complicado, en especial en vista de que ella misma ha atravesado en el pasado etapas muy difíciles debido a sus problemas de adicción en las que pidió que se respetara su privacidad.
Al final ella también acabó perdiendo la paciencia ante los mensajes cada vez más ofensivos que estaba recibiendo, muchos de los cuales hacían referencia a su consumo de drogas y a la sobredosis que sufrió el pasado verano: “Si van a atacarme por hacer una broma, al menos intenten decir algo original y que no tenga que ver con las drogas”, aseguró en un primer momento, antes de darse cuenta que estaba luchando una batalla perdida y decidir retirarse con un mensaje de despedida: “F**k Twitter. Por eso ya no tuiteo”.
Más tarde recurrió a su cuenta de Instagram, que aún permanece activa, para dar a entender que su retirada de Twitter podría prolongarse indefinidamente en el tiempo y tratar de explicarse una última vez.

bit of a / incredibly corny title here but it kind of fitted with Ruud's play on the night. he just kind of wondered around upfront, and often off-side, on his own. he did, however, score a cracking header, so we'll let him off. note johann cruyff sat (almost) directly opposite me.
i recently had the fortune to attend the Holland (Netherlands) v Russia game in EURO 2008 in Basle and what fun it was! despite secretly wanting the Oranje to win, Russia were bloody awesome and deserved it. don't know why van Basten insisted on playing van Persie on the right, but who am i to complain about a man that scores goals like this – uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fEqDd_nXnK8

It was a bit hard to decide, how I should upload all those many, many pics I've taken for my new fashion collection "Ballet Afternoon" (for further info please have a look at my profile).
So it seemed to me the best way, to concentrate on the models that wear my new clothes : ).

Ballet Afternoon, that’s a small and limited collection of my latest fashions, that was highly inspired by dancewear from ballerinas. It includes soft and delicate flowing fabrics and combines timeless black and versatile grey with beautiful powder and rose-colored tones.
After a challenging workout the young dancers are attracted to a delicious coffee and are about to leave the studio still brimming with the feeling of defying gravity and in anticipation of an enchanting “Ballet Afternoon”.

This is a photograph from the fourth annual running of the "Mullingar 10" - a 10 mile road race and fun run which was held in Dalystown, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Sunday July 17th 2017 at 11:00. The race was organised by Mullingar Harriers who promoted the event. There was almost 280 participants in the event. The race follows a simple 'figure of 8' route. The race starts from Dalystown National School and heads north briefly to Dalystown cross-roads where there is a left turn which brings runners along the L1122 road. The only real cross-over of the route is at the 2.5 and 7.5 mile mark. The race completes a loop between 2.5 and the 7.5 mile mark which brings runners into the locality of Ballinagore. The final 2.5 miles of the race brings runners back through Cloneheigue and the final 1.5 miles of the race is along straight road heading north back to Dalystown and the finish outside of Wallace's Pub which is just off the N52 road.
The course was a mixture of long straight level sections of road with some short rolling hills which made for a challenging but an overall fair course. The race took place is warm temperatures with a strong southerly breeze in the face of runners for stretches along the route. However some beautiful mature hedgerows along the mostly rural roads provided shade and shelter from the sun for runners. This race has actually had excellent weather for its first four years with some runners saying that temperatures may have even been a bit too high for distance running.
This was the fourth year of the event it has become an annual fixture on the calendar. The running calendar today shows a marked shortage of races at the 10 mile distance and this was one of the original reasons this distance was chosen for this race. Clubs from all over the North Leinster region and beyond were represented today. Refreshments were provided outside Wallace's Pub at the Finish line. Well done to Mullingar Harriers and all the many volunteers who helped make today's race a wonderful success.

Dalystown is very much a picture of the classic rural Irish parish and is situated about 7 miles south of Mullingar just off the N52 road to Tullamore Co. Offaly. The lands of Dalystown is situated at the south east corner of Lough Ennell which is the dominant geographical feature around this part of Co. Westmeath.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Skies looking a bit stormy over San Jose, CA for the first time in over a month! Clouds appear to have like an undulatus asperatus formation or so. A slight chance of showers was forecasted for our area this day as the edge of a large storm passes thru over much of the Northwest. We just felt the tail end of it here in the Bay Area, getting only cloud cover and trace amounts of moisture, if any, from the storm's weakening cold front. Our parched state desperately needs lots of rain since a good fraction of it was under a severe drought... (Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2014; 1:05 p.m.)

Not sure why the photo turned out dark, as the previous "test" shot turned out pretty bright...
