Shutter plate separated from the body. The pin of the cocking ring is supposed to push out to allow easy separation, but mine was stuck fast, and in the end all the shutter leaves fell out, along with their stiffeners (the small pieces). It is necessary to separate the shutter plate to access the aperture blades, but not necessary to disturb the leaves in the process.
Try to avoid operating the shutter while the cocking shaft E-clips are missing. The shaft will start to move through the backplate, and springs can get unhooked.
Years ago, I had a wonderful spring trip to the Okanagan. There I saw some special birds who all had a little blue to their color display.
Bit over-processed perhaps but quite like the bluey tones. Lighting wasn't as brilliant as the others, sun was there but obscured by clouds.

For monaw2008...she requested word blocks - one of our name and another of our choice. They were really fun to try and to make!
A very little bit of blue in otherwise dark gray and rainy skies. It lit up a large patch of Cardamine pratensis, Lady's Smock or Cuckoo Flower, blowing mauve in a field full of Dandelions just off the Hoornsedijk a few kms south of Groningen. In the fierce and chilly wind strafing off the Lake a sudden lull long enough for a photo.
Cardamine as a name for this Cress goes back at least on Pedanius Dioscorides (c.40-90 CE), famed pharmacologist, botanist and physician of Late Antiquity. That name is of course connected to Kardamon, a spice plant from Indian Asia. The leaves of Lady's Smock are indeed a bit spicy and can be used nicely in a Spring Salad.
It tastes a bit like Nasturtium leaves that I recall from the lunch tables of my youth. I suppose that such salads had best be eaten at a picknick table outside. In some European folklore, notably in Germany, Cuckoo Flower shouldn't be brought indoors for that would be asking for lightning to strike...
Maybe that holds for photos too, for there was a clap of thunder as I was cropping this picture...
The skies cleared up at the end of the day. Hooray!

Bit odd seeing this on a Q-plate. First registered in 2000 and not left hand drive so it doesn't appear to be an import.
I recently got this interesting product. It's a computer that comes with a basic interface so you can code and run basic language programs.
The main feature it's that you can play famicom games as well. It comes with two turbo controllers.
Back in the eighties the MSX computer was very successful in Japan, Europe and South America, Sony release a model called MSX Hit Bit, maybe this is a Chinese attempt to copy an MSX computer.
It's very cool and it has output for a printer and a tape recorder.
I suppose a pig's anus would be a bit tough going...To his credit No 3 swallowed the whole thing and didn't use the sick bag provided for each contestant.

Bhit Shah is a small town located in Matiari District, Sindh, Pakistan. It is most famous for being the location of the shrine of Sindh's greatest sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
Took the kids and the family down to the Harbour estate to see the QE2.but i wanted to go down to the pump house, as the traffic was being directed, i stopped and asked the gentleman could we get down the road to the pump house, he wasn't from NI and he said that i follow cars, as there were some behind me (like that was the understatement of the year) so again i asked if i could go straight down the road and he said that other person would help me. so i said ok, put the windae back up and said "that fellow was helpful... not" and holden pipes up in the backseat (bernie, you'll hear this with the accent!!!) "that man was STUPID!" omg talk about near wetting yerself laughin... the rain may have been coming down hard but it certainly didn't dampen the spirits!
those of you with kids know this face. at least i got eye contact, even if it's squinty.
this is so him when i make him do something he doesn't want to. i admit though, i love how feisty (that's an understatement really ;)) he is, it makes him him.

This was the first photo that I took after coming home from hospital following an emergency operation for a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. I was very lucky because the aneurysm burst when I was in the hospital ward of a NHS Centre of Excellence for vascular surgery, so my chances of survival were about 50% instead of only about 6% if it had ruptured at home! If it had ruptured 8 days earlier, I would have been on a boat on the Nile and I don't think I would have had much chance!
I'm well on the mend now and looking forward to seeing things through the lens in a new light following my lucky reprieve.

Cromwell Lock near Brighouse. My "usual" canal but a bit further along today. This is a spot that is not accessible by car so I combined a walk with some flying practice. There is a lot of oil at several of the locks on this stretch at present and I've also noticed they all have at least one gate open which is very unusual. No doubt some one navigating the canal without the same care and courtesy as the majority of boat people we see along this stretch.

A little bit of the sightseeing market in Liverpool with two similarly bodied buses on two different chassis with two different operators. On the left facing the camera is Maghull Coaches, Bootle, SIG1847, a Plaxton President bodied DAF DB250. New to Arriva London North(DLP6), in 07/1999 registered T206XBV. Later converted to open-top configuration, it operated on Arriva The Original London Sightseeing Tours numbered DLP206. It is seen here on Canada Boulevard passing Liverpool City Sights, Liverpool, 305 W633PSX, a Dennis Trident SFD321, also with a Plaxton President body. New to Lothian Reigional Transport(33), in 07/2000, this is a purpose built open-topper rather than a conversion, being used on City Sightseeing Edinburgh tours.
