This fine figure of a Cornish Man was sat right by the log pile so every time I went out to collect some wood for the fire he scared the bejeebers out of me. The owners have a sence of humour...........I suspect!

Was rearranging my collection on Wednesday, and figured (ha!) I really don't have a big collection for someone who's been in the hobby for 5 years.
Admittedly, I did refrain myself from figure collecting & manga buying after I entered the BJD hobby. （evil dolly surrender!)
I still love buying figures every so often. It's such a great pleasure to see the figure army slowly growing each year. Collecting figures' also the reason my love for photography initiated.

I don't love every pieces of my collection equally, hell, I don't even like some of them any more, but none of the figures that entered my collection had been sold, and I hope it remains that way for a long long time.

Bisnis Syariah – Kepala Daerah Kerja Makkah Arsyad Hidayat membenarkan adanya sapuan angin kencang pada Senin (21/09) malam yang menyebabkan beberapa tenda di enam maktab roboh. Namun demikian, Arsyad memastikan bahwa tenda-tenda tersebut sudah langsung diperbaiki sehingga siap untuk ditempati kembali oleh jemaah haji.
“Tenda jemaah yang roboh segera diperbaiki sehingga bisa ditempati oleh jemaah haji yang saat ini sudah mulai berangkat ke Arafah,” jelasnya, Selasa (22/09).
Jemaah haji Indonesia mulai diberangkatkan ke Arafah Selasa (22/09) dalam tiga tahapan. Tahap pertama diberangkatkan pada pukul 08.00 waktu Arab Saudi, kedua 12.00, dan ketiga 16.00.
Menurut Arsyad, robohnya tenda hanya terjadi di enam maktab saja, yaitu maktab 8, 9, 21, 35, 36, dan 48. Kondisi kerusakan tenda pada keenam maktab itu beragam, namun secara umum sudah dilakukan perbaikan hingga bisa segera ditempati jemaah haji.
Terkait adanya pemberitaan tentang terjadinya kebakaran dan evakuasi besar-besaran di Makkah, Arsyad memastikan bahwa informasi tersebut tidak benar. Seluruh jemaah saat ini dalam kondisi siap untuk diberangkatkan menuju Arafah.
Menanggapi hasil pantauan DPR bahwa air cooler masih kurang, Arsyad mengatakan bahwa kondisi saat ini masih jauh lebih baik dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Tenda jemaah pada haji 2014, tidak dilengkapi dengan air cooler, sedang pada tahun ini sudah ada. Kalau dinilai kurang, Arsyad mengatakan bahwa akan melakukan evaluasi efektifitas penggunaan air cooler itu saat ini. Hasil evaluasi itulah yang nantinya akan dijadikan bahan pertimbangan untuk perbaikan di tahun yang akan datang.
Terkait karpet yang berlubang, Arsyad menjelaskan bahwa sampai tanggal 7 Dzulhijjah kemarin, muassasah memang masih mempersiapkan dan info terkait itu sudah dikoordinasikan ke pihak maktab agar bisa segera ditindaklanjuti. (rio)

Bit of a strange one this.
I was asked by JustinTimberlake.com to do an illustration of Wayne Coyne - the singer bloke from The Flaming Lips - and make a video of myself drawing it. It's now up on his website as the visual component of an interview with the aforementioned Mr Coyne.

Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis)
The bird is of a dark chocolate brown colour with bright yellow bill, legs and orbital skin. The ones found on the island country of Sri Lanka tend to be of a darker shade of brown. Indian myna has a conspicuous white patch which shows when the bird is in flight. This bird has a variety of sharp calls that is uttered with an absurd bobbing of the head.
It is a very visible bird thanks to its affinity to humans habitats. It has a habit of following humans around.
It is an omnivorous and eats whatever its habitat has to offer. This myna could be found in a groups or as pair, that is known to share domestic chores.
INTERESTING BIT:
Since it is found in PAIRS people choose to to call it 2 for joy! It is a kind of SUPERSTITION among the teenagers that if u see 2 together then all Good will happen to you and a loner will bring in sadness.
I still beleive this superstition till date! It works for me even now!
Bit of enjoyment - photo session of a neighbours car which ended up being extended to allow the Snow Moon to appear in the blue hour.
The exciting car is one of only 800 in the UK is a 240 HP 1.8 litre turbocharged beast , Audi TT Quattro Sport 4WD does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. top speed is limited to 155mph in this UK version.
No rear seats and the battery relocated to the rear for improve weight balance, plus a few other tweaks!! Now a cult vehicle and tipped to increase in value due to it's rarity. Built in a special Audi motorsport factory rather than the standard Audi production line apparently.

Standing on the centre road at the charmless dump that is Birmingham New Street is 50 046 Ajax. The loco is also receiving the attention of another photographer who is trying not to include the white and blue class 116 dmu stabled behind. The track is quite rusty in front of Ajax suggesting it has not moved for some time. The loco was built as D446 25/11/1968 and lasted until 25/03/1992, it was cut at M.C. Metals 19/08/1992

We had a visit here to walk and then swim at Wadi Shab in Oman. Amazing and beautiful place..
Almost a two hour drive from Muscat, then a boat ride before setting off up the amazing Wadi following the water until we came to the area where we changed and then paddled and then swam to a cave!
Out for a windy, snowy, hailed on and sunshiny ride this afternoon! (Sunday) 42 miles around the edge of Sheffield and into the Peak District. Lovely stuff!!

I am way behind with comments...sorry...we have had sunshine, warmth and blue skies for a few days so had to make the most of them while they lasted :-) They seem to have gone now so I will try to catch up ASAP :-)
A bit of light painting with a new light-up toy: an LED illuminated dodecahedron (also called an infinity dodecahedron).
This is an 8-second long exposure at an ISO 50 where I moved the image every two seconds so that it produced light trails. The original image looked interesting like a light explosion but fairly linear and I was wanting to make something more curvy and bendy.
I added in PS distortions (zig-zag, pinch, twirl) and a copy-paste/flip vertical & horizontal (opacity at 50% to let the original layer show through, too).
I used Topaz Adjust's Psychodelic filter brighten up the colors within the image (example, the very pale teal on the edges are now visible).

Two bits of dust perhaps the size of a grain of sand exit space and make their way toward terra firma. In so doing they leave a blazing colorful trail.
The bits of formerly space dust are cast offs of the comet Swift-Tuttle. Around August 12 of every year the earth passes through the debris of the comet much like a mini-van passes through a swarm of moths. When the earth smacks into the debris we get colorful ephemeral fire in the sky that can be downright impressive. And unlike moth strikes no trip to the car wash is needed because the bits and grains of the comet are incinerated in our atmosphere. Curiously many of the Perseid meteors are green and red sometimes very noticeably so even when viewing by eye and not with a camera. The colors come from the compounds that are burned up. Copper, Manganese, Boron and several other elements burn green.
This image (which is a composite of two shots taken less than 90 seconds apart) shows two fiery meteors each taking a different path outward. The "radiant" of the meteor shower is near the middle of the photo in the constellation Perseus. Because the place where the meteors appear to come from is Perseus, the meteor shower is called the "Perseid" meteor shower. It's one of the better, more predictable showers every year. The other best bet is the Geminids around December 13th or 14th. The Geminid meteors are believed to originate from debris of the asteroid: 3200 Phaethon (which in fact may have been a comet itself before it lost all its crunchy hydrocarbon ice shell).
If you'd like to try to capture a meteor, we have an article that will help but chances are very good you won't succeed.

Yes it was a bit dirty out Cunnamulla way, but nice to see new country out in the Wild West.
On the dirt flats at Bowra. This has been captured in Queensland's wild west, near Cunnamulla. I did a trip out west in seeking the elusive Major Mitchell birds.
In this area the vegetation is sparse and the land is arid and not very productive.
Cunnamulla is around 787Km west from Queensland's capital Brisbane.

Texas A&M Aggie Ring ’84 considers himself a bit of a “foodie.” Aggie Ring was quite surprised when he noticed a new “Greek” themed “fast food” place next to the building where our UPS Store account is located in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. It’s called “Greekamolé” and apparently is NOT a chain. Aggie Ring was impressed that you could actually get food that was healthy and not drowned in salt, yet… still tasted great.
Aggie Ring told me “Thank goodness they didn't have the same stereotypical foods that every other "Greek" restaurant has. No gyro, no Pastiche, no Moussaka - you can find that elsewhere! Sure, there are some Greek influenced items here, but the food reminded me more of the food in the Middle East, North Africa or Southwest Asia. Not Greek. Regardless, the food was delicious and healthier than what you find at a Greek diner.”
With the exception of the pulled beef short ribs, all of the main courses were veggie, chicken, or fish! They all looked delicious.
I had the Mediterranean Chicken platter with greens, rice and Turkish salad, and mixed salad with feta. The layout of the salad selections reminded me of the restaurants I frequently visited in Turkey during the two years I lived in Istanbul.
After you pick your two sides, you move on to the sauce bar where you select from at least 9 different toppings. They had tzatziki (OK, that's Greek) but the others were definitely Middle Eastern or Central American inspired. They all looked delicious.
Both Aggie Ring and I liked how the dessert menu was a healthier yogurt variety of options with fruit and other toppings and not heavy pastries. They even have higher quality Jones Cane Sugar Soda, which, If you have to drink soda, is much better than corn syrup based Pepsi or Coke products.
They also had appetizer hot pita with a selection of dipping sauces as well as a kid's menu.
Aggie Ring said, “They did their homework before opening this place.”
