This is my first Collector doll. It was a birthday present. I was so happy to receive her. She was bought new, in her fabulous royal clothes. It didn’t take long to choose an appropriate name for her – Jane (as the queen Jane Seymour). She was the very doll to give me the idea of historic posts – about English history. She featured in some of them representing Jane Seymour. Isn’t she a perfect queen?

This stemma reports the “Principatus” founder and the development of the “Julio – Claudian” Dynasty from the side of the Julia Gens. It should be read in parallel with the Stemma Drusorum

The three key points are:

1) The Augustus’ posthumous adoption made by Caius Julius Caesar, his maternal uncle;

2) The Dynasty foundation, Augustus’ marriage with Livia Drusilla, already mother of Tiberius and of Nero Claudius Drusus (Drusus the Elder);

3) The power keeping by means of strategic marriages between the members of the two branches of the Dynasty; particularly successful was the union between Germanicus Caesar, son of Drusus the Elder, and Agrippina the Elder, daughter of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and stepdaughter of Augustus.

Name: Reinhard Schwieger

Alias: Blitzkrieg

Height: 5'7"

Weight: 150 lbs.

Age: 96

Reinhard Schweiger was born on July 21st, 1917 to a rich German family. He was not particularly smart, but he had a way with words and was very good at physical activities. Upon leaving high school, he joined the German army and quickly rose through the ranks.

The Fuhrer of Germany, Adolph Hitler noticed Schweiger's physical abilities, and appointed him as his personal bodyguard for the remainder of his life. During the Second World War, Schweiger was mesmerized by the Nazi ideology and became an absolute fanatic to their cause. Even after the defeat of Nazi Germany at the hands of the allied forces, he still believed in Hitler's dream "Aryan race", and still intended to continue his work.

Schweiger travelled to America and underwent plastic surgery to alter his appearance, as he was a wanted war criminal. He laid low for a while before traveling to the Southern parts of the country. He knew white supremacy was growing there, and he began to spread the word of his new Nazi party. Slowly, he began to gather followers to act as soldiers and bodyguards.

He soon found out that Gotham had a huge criminal enterprise and that he could spread word of his cause there very quickly. He established a headquarters in Old Town Gotham and has his small personal army based out of there. He is in remarkably good shape for a 96 year old because of the fact that he has continually used performance enhancing drugs and trains on a regular basis. The only real problem about taking him down would be his well armed personal army.

HARLOW SHAPLEY FBI considered him a risk

A man are largely responsible for our current understanding of the structure of the universe and the solar system’s place in it. But to the FBI, Shapley was a dangerous character.

That’s in the massive file, too.

FBI agents recorded the addresses of every piece of mail that Shapley sent or received. Extraordinary surveillance was just part of the seven years of government spying on Shapley that ended in 1953, a year after he retired as Harvard College Observatory’s director.

The FBI even spied on the 1946 convention of the American Association of Variable Star Observers, which Shapley attended. He has an inherent dislike for authority, and will invariably do the opposite to what he is told or supposed to do.’” Shapley had made his reputation with one of the most monumental discoveries in astronomy since Copernicus’ displacement of the Earth. Using observations of Cepheid variable stars in globular clusters that he made at Mt. Wilson from 1914 to 1921, Shapley radically revised the scale of the Space estimated, after a few revisions, that the Sun and its planets were some 30,000 light years from the galaxy’s true center, which he correctly located in the direction of Sagittarius.

The daily Sun printed Shapley’s notes verbatim — coarse words and all. “Consequently, [the politician] wanted to murder me and blow up everybody,” Shapley wrote.

He then won a fellowship to study with Henry Norris Russell, the country’s foremost astronomer, at Princeton. Under Russell, Shapley made his reputation for solving the orbits of binary star systems through the use of complex equations. That landed him a research job at Mt. Wilson, which began in 1914.

Using the 60- and 100-inch telescopes at the observatory north of Los Angeles, Shapley made his great discovery about the Milky Way Galaxy’s

In 1952, Shapley reached Harvard’s mandatory retirement, stepped down from his post at the observatory. He had overseen massive projects produced by 25 large telescopes around the world, including the Shapley-Ames Catalog of External Galaxies. And the FBI continued to keep an eye on him

In February 1924 Edwin Hubble wrote to Shapley about his discovery of two Cepheid variables in the Andromeda nebula, M 31. Shapley responded that the letter was “the most entertaining literature I have seen for a long time,” and promised to send a revised period-luminosity curve. THE Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society has been awarded to Dr. Harlow Shapley for his studies of the structure and dimensions of the galactic system. Dr. Shapley, has been director of Harvard College Observatory and Paine professor of astronomy at Harvard since 1921, known particularly the relation between the period of variation and the absolute magnitude of Cepheid variable stars. The apparent magnitude of the Cepheid variables in a globular cluster is measured and compared with the known absolute magnitude of a Cepheid of the same period, and from this the distance of the cluster is obtained immediately, provided absorption of light in interstellar space is negligible. In 1915–18 he published a noteworthy series of papers on researches on the globular clusters, which brought these objects prominently before astronomers.

That enabled astronomers to calculate a star's distance from Earth, and in 1918 allowed Harlow Shapley, who would become Pickering's successor, to extend the boundaries of the Milky Way.

Nature, Nov 22, 2016

Just before World War I, Harlow Shapley of Missouri devised a technique for measuring the distances to the globular clusters, those lovely spherical arrays of stars which resemble a swarm of bees.

Cosmos

Harlow Shapley, who wrote an article in 1919 on the subject, was an astronomer, responsible for the detection of the redshift in distant nebulae and hence, indirectly, for our present concept of an expanding universe.

Scientific American, Oct 20, 2013

The article traces its roots to 1929, when Harlow Shapley said, “We organic beings who call ourselves humans are made of the same stuff as the stars.”

New York Times, Aug 12, 2013

In 1928, astronomer Harlow Shapley correctly concluded that the two stars were about equal in mass.

If there is such a thing as a renaissance man of the century --- this is he. Look what God has given him to create with his heart, mind and talent.

Failim (derived from ancient Irish FEIDLIMID which means "beauty" and "ever good") is a Breton from Jehanna, High Rock, however she doesn't consider that place her home. She grew up on the streets after running away from an orphanage, learning the art of thievery to survive. She was also a budding magician and often used both sets of skills to captivate audiences in small performances to garner some coin. Her skills also got her into trouble many times. She can count the number of nights she's slept in a jail cell on both hands. After her latest release from jail she decided she'd had enough of Jehanna. Taking what little she had, she ventured down through Hammerfell to Cyrodill.

Traveling long distances requires money, a commodity Failim had little of. During this time she perfected her performances with magic and swift hands while traveling with a troupe of like-minded individuals. In this mish-mash of diversity and race, each person had their own reasons for running away, many coveting their stories so none would get too close.

Failim loved Cyrodill. It was somewhat ravished still by war, but the people were so eager to throw away their septims to see something beautiful and imaginary. Failim happily obliged their wants and soon was able to amass enough money to where she didn't have to steal to supplement her food or supplies. This was also about the time she started noticing things were going missing. An iron dagger she had enchanted for her show suddenly vanished. A few septims here and there would simply walk away. Failim spoke up to the group, but no one admitted to anything. It took her looking through their things to locate her missing items to find the truth. After that, her shaky trust in the troupe was shattered. Once again gathering her things, Failim set out at first light, alone, to find another place to go.

She continued to tour through Cyrodill for almost a year before the wandering bug bit her again and she took the first caravan that was hiring, north. However this time fate was not on her side. Once the caravan entered the Eastmarch region of Skyrim, bandits attacked. A few on the caravan survived, including Failim, but in the commotion she had gotten separated from the group. In trying to find her way she walked in on the now infamous Imperial capture of Ulfric Stormcloak.

Failim has been able to bounce back from her bad luck. Surviving Helgen, she learned she was Dragonborn. For once she felt she had purpose and could possibly become somebody. Using the Greybeards' teachings, the Blades' ancient knowledge, Lessons and fellowship from a companion named Aurlyn, along with her own wit and craft, she was able to save Tamriel from Alduin, the World Eater. She was also able to expand her knowledge of the arcane arts and save the world once again when she joined the College of Winterhold. Now, along with her title of Dovakiin she also wears the mantle of Arch-Mage. Wanting to give back to one of the places she ever loved, Cyrodill, she joined the Imperial Legion, became a Legate, and helped unite Skyrim for the Empire.

Now Failim lives with some of her closest friends in Elysium Estate, a home that she was worthy of taking over, according to the goddess Kynareth. Lucky for her, her "adventuring" ( including killing and raiding bandit camps and Dwemer ruins) has allowed her to amass wealth and start many collections, including clothing, books, and ancient artifacts.

Failim's personality can best be described as a pessimist. She's lived for so long trying to run from the bad things she's done she can't help not look over her shoulder. She does warm up to those willing to look past the fact she's dragonborn, arch-mage, (or a thief) and talk with her as if she's a normal person. While she does "like" the titles she has, they are a burden to carry and something she doesn't know if she'll ever get used to having. She doesn't mind drinking, but she doesn't usually go all out.

Because of her time as a performer around parts of Tamriel, she has become a bard after attending the Bard's College in Solitude. Failim loves playing the flute and singing, however her favorite activity to perform are one person reenactments.

Although Failim doesn't associate herself with the Thieves Guild in Skyrim, that hasn't stopped her slight of hand. She doesn't steal from those less fortunate and gives to beggers, but if someone is rude to her she has no problem making their lives hell.

The countryside of Whiterun Hold is beautiful to her. She is Thane of Whiterun and no stranger to busy cities, however she has found peace in an estate outside of the city in the grasslands of the hold. This also allows her some badly needed privacy as everyone likes to have her attention.

Being Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold is challenging for her as she's never really taught anyone, so she leaves the majority of the duties up to Tolfdir and some of the other master mages. She does take trips and has lengthy stays to keep herself abreast of college information and to share her own experiences. Per her magical ability, Failim favors enchanting and various fire spells from Destruction, however she dabbles in every branch somewhat (as most mages do).

Failim is materialistic. She likes shiny things and collecting artifacts, even if it means going someplace dangerous. Because of this, she's taken a lot of time to learn enchanting so her and her fellow adventurers can be somewhat safe(ish...). Her favorite colors are blue, teal, and aqua so she tends to adorn herself and her places in these colors.

She also loves to play tag and hide and seek, as well as talk with any child she sees, however she feels she is incapable of taking care of one.

Legate Rikke gave her the nickname of Stormeyes because of her unnaturally gray eyes. Not having a real last name Failim adopted the moniker as a byname.

As a reminder to how far she has come in her life, she wears a piece of a tooth from the second dragon she's ever seen and the first she's slain: Mirmulnir.

On February 22nd, at the Nicolás Guillén Hall, Editorial Capitán San Luis will present the book Vilma: A Special Woman, to be presented at a later date in Santiago de Cuba and the Second Front.

By Leticia Martínez Hernández

This book, Vilma: A Special Woman, an accurate portrait of an indispensable Cuban, brings back to us the heroine who loved everything she did, who changed the lives of numerous people and who proved that a delicate woman can also be the strongest pillar.

“It’s a passionate work,” says Juan Carlos Rodríguez, director of Editorial Capitán San Luis and compiler of the text to be presented on February 22nd, at the Nicolás Guillén Hall, in the framework of the Havana International Book Fair. “The reader will find a treasure in letters and amazing testimonies because Vilma was a talented narrator who did not resort to affected or pretentious words; in her texts there is nothing missing or superfluous, they simply flow so naturally.”

These are the credentials of a book that has tried to sum up, in 240 pages, the life of Vilma Espín Guillois, from her days as Coordinator of the 26 of July Movement in the province of Oriente, when she was one of the revolutionary women most persecuted by the tyranny’s repressive bodies, through her times as an irreplaceable guerrilla with the Ejército Rebelde, to her full commitment to the Revolution, since as from January 1959 the struggle for women’s emancipation and advocacy for children’s rights added special meaning to her life.

According to Rodríguez, “the book will introduce its readers to her experiences during the fourteen months she operated in conditions of complete secrecy as well as to the way she later became involved in works of significant social justice such as the eradication of prostitution, the rescue of thousands of helpless children who survived in the streets, the education of peasant girls at the ‘Ana Betancourt’ School that she established, and the creation of the Day Care Centers among many others. The book reveals that passion she felt for everything she did.”

“The readers will better identify with our Vilma. They will become acquainted with a very brave Cuban, the same one who addressed countless international meetings advocating women’s right to full equality, and denouncing child labor, drug abuse or domestic violence…and in all those meetings she inspired great respect, even if oftentimes she had to wear again her guerrilla uniform to defend justice.”

“She is the thread of the whole story,” admits the compiler of Vilma: A Special Woman. “She is the true author; we simply put together the pieces of the puzzle based on everything she wrote and every task she undertook. From page one, the reader feels that it is Vilma recounting the events; you feel like you are just listening,” says Rodríguez for whom the possibility of learning about the wondrous world of this woman’s life meant an opportunity to meet again with the very special human being that she was.

The book offers around one thousand images, including pictures and testimonial documents, that is, not only snapshots of Vilma but also of her comrades in arms and of the times she lived.

After a two-year research you concluded that there is still much in Vilma’s life that is unkown. What could her legacy be to the youths who might be the ones less familiar with the heroine and her times?

“The book is also a portrait of the Revolution. It clearly exposes the crimes committed under Fulgencio Batista’s tyranny. The brutality of repression in Santiago de Cuba and the courage of the revolutionary youths are really stunning and for our young people it could be a lesson in history and revolutionary steadfastness. It is, above all, a lesson on the work of justice of the Revolution.”

As stated in the forewords written by Asela de los Santos Tamayo, another one of those great women who made history: “Let this book be, in the hands of our people and particularly our youth, a rapprochement to the personality of this indispensable patriot of the 20th Century, a fighter in the trenches of ideas and the trenches of rock, a relentless fighter for justice, a human being who taught us how to confront adversity and even death, always with the support of two great forces that nourished and inspired her precious life: love and ethics.”

This

With one I birthday Saving who sell metformin comparison she keeps to.

book is also a testimony of Vilma’s loyalty to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, a loyalty born during the revolutionary struggle and strengthened in more than five decades of working side by side. It was him who, on December 2001, placed on Vilma’s chest the honorary title of Heroine of the Republic of Cuba, the best tribute to her untiring labors.

Adding to the description of every one of the battles in which this indispensable woman took part, the book transpires the complicity of love, the love that drew Vilma and Raúl together from their early days as young guerrilla fighters. The words and pictures in this book bring moments they shared during the construction of a different Cuba, because Vilma: A Special Woman is the portrait of a woman who fought with the same passion with which she loved.
