Besides the view of the sea in front of the Reynisfjara lavabeach, there is on the other side the Reynisfjall mountain. This more then 300 meters tall mountain is very close the the beach, which makes the beach to a very long but narrow stroke to walk on.
Mt. Reynisfjall is an mountain formed by the eruption of a volcano, which can be seen by the basalt strokes in the lower part of the mountain. The basalt rocks, partly seen in the sea as the reynisdrangar formation, but the form also a cave bellow the mountain called the Hálsanefshellir cave.
Our first day in Singapore and besides getting acclimatized with a morning tour, we also hit the shops and boy do they have shops here! This is the ceiling from one of the centres, part of the millennium walk.
Moving fairly fast in early morning along the highway is a motorcycle cart carrying several fresh coconut fruits. On board, besides the driver-seller, is another guy who could be his helper and a young boy.

Besides a nice looking lighthouse in town, Algoma, WI was also home to this nice looking old Milwaukee Road Alco, the 988. Originally built as a RSC2, the unit received some work and some people called it a RSC2.5 after that. Not exactly sure how accurate that was, but at least this six axle road switcher still lives in Wisconsin, residing at North Freedom.
Besides the eagles this Peregrine Falcon may have been the 'culprit' spooking the Snow Geese into flight. He/she was seen as we were headed out on the last leg of the auto tour!
I had cataract surgery on my right eye yesterday, every thing went well but will be limited to my time on the computer...will catch up slowly...but surely...:)

A quick stilhouette as the standard LP shot, I have to thank Tim Gamble and Chris Thompson for inspiring me to try backlit silhouettes about 15 years ago, and even more thanks to Phill for nearly always being the backlit gimp!! 31/05/2025
Building on Jackson Ave., New Orleans. What got my attention, besides the light and shadows, there aren't any windows in the front. It's for sale, probably commercial property.

Good morning folks, the reason I'm posting this image is because I've never seen this kind of fish before here, besides it's nice to see the behavioral habits of species in the wild.
I watched him for quite some time and finally he came through for me. Thamk you as always for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

Eva (Pulliput) and I had a mini Pullip meet last Thrusday since she was in town.
Charlotte is so pretty! I really love her. I'm so glad Eva brought her. I feel kinda bad b/c I didn't really get any photos of her Suzume and Merope besides the group shot. ^^; Sorry about that, Eva. Hope you didn't think I didn't like them. I blame it on Charlotte's beauty and the cold weather freezing my brain and making me forget.
Oh, and this is also my photo for day 79 of the 365 Toy Project. :3

Besides posing for selfies, Sir David happily did a fair bit of signing. A very patient man, indeed! I decided to do a wide angle "street" style candid here. I think two more in this series will do.
Besides rope cuttings, bottle corks are one of the most often found sorts of marine litter on this stretch of coastline.
Besides panning like in previous ones this one was also zoomed during exposure generating waves of colours
Besides some early morning walks to discover the German flora I was mostly active with my family. Still a great opportunity to make some other than traditional shots of the local historic places. The most pretty one was this castle where a wedding party just started and this coach had just delivered the bride and groom.

Besides C&NW as seen previously, another favorite road through this neat locationt was the WC. With a great paint scheme, and SD-45's, it hurt bad when this operation left the scene.
Besides my love for flowers I also like abstract art and hence I decided to upload an abstract looking spring image of some new shoots. I hope you like it!
Again, thanks to Flickr for exploring my picture! :)
Besides seeing the owls are back....isn't this just an awesome tree!!!! I just love it....very photogenic!!! Well I think I'll go back and start photographing owls again. It's been the only bird that we've been able to follow. I just love them!!! ❤ Large view just shows a sleeping owl!!! 😄
Germany, Berlin, besides being a symbol for the city since 1280, the bear has come to be the mascot of Berlin. Each of the complete semicircle of a total of forty painted bears was created by artists from around the world.
The bear, the city's mascot, had been developed into the so-called “Berlin Buddy Bears”; fiberglass sculptures of bears are used to promote the qualities of "tolerance & cosmopolitanism” associated with the city since 2001.

This is growing in the landscaping in my yard. In Indiana, this Viburnum is found in the northern two-thirds of the state where it grows in swampy or boggy habitats that range from sunny to shady. It is much more common in northern Indiana’s lake country where wetland habitats are more widespread than elsewhere in Indiana. It is quite similar to Blackhaw Viburnum (Viburnum prunifolium), which grows in drier, more upland habitats, and which is much more common than V. lentago. One good characteristic besides habitat in helping to distinguish between the two is that V. lentago has a very pointed tip on most of its leaves as seen in this photo.
. . . Besides the Sunflowers coming into bloom, I also wait for the trees in our small orchard to bear their goodies! I only have one cherry tree and it was "loaded" this summer, which means it probably has enough fruit for a small pie! Yum coming soon!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
Today I went to the old Bruynzeel-factory with my daughter and her friend. You can enter the place quite easily, so no harm done to the little girls ;) Besides, they both thought it was very exciting!
For me, this visit delivered some nice shots of two innocent youngsters in a deserted and decaying place. Great shots for sure! Enjoy!
I aligned the photo somewhat so that the tower of the castel is now more or less upright
Besides that I croped a 16:9 format from the original.
Normally I won't post almost the same photo twice but I think it's worth it this time.
Many thanks for the great positive response for the first version!
PLAZA MAYOR MARIO ZUCATO
Besides being the largest postcard of Monte Sião, the Square Pref. Zucato Mario is also the fruit of hard work and dedication that Mr. Estevam Comune, now deceased, gave to the plants, followed today by his son. Without any specialized study and with the sole purpose of beautifying the square, Mr. Estevam Comune gave life forms to cypress and flower beds.

Besides the Wey and Arun Canal, two Small Tortoiseshell butterflies try some bonding as part of their courtship routine. A few minutes before, I had seen these two flying close together, and I imagine it wouldn't be long before they started to create a further generation.
This species has seen a decline in recent years, quite probably due to a troublesome parasitic fly. So perhaps seeing an additional 'lonesome' Small Tortoiseshell further along the towpath gave a bit of positivity.

Riserva naturale integrale Saline di Trapani e Paceco is a nature reserve in the Province of Trapani between the municipalities of Trapani, and Paceco at the west coast of Sicily. It was founded in 1995 and in the framework of the Ramsar Convention entrusted to WWF Italy. It has an areal of 987 ha and consists of two zones (Zona A and Zona B). Besides a remarkable Mediterranean flora and fauna there is a saline work museum in an old salt mill.
Besides shooting a few HLCX leasers on Pan Am back home over a decade ago, this is my first time seeing classic cascade green on an actual freight, and a "white face" GP30 bodied one at that!

Green Spring in Deltona, Florida is located in Green Springs Park, just near the north shore of Lake Monroe on the St. Johns River. The spring, off-limits to swimmers, is famous for its color, sometimes light green and sometimes emerald, changing with the amount of sulfur in the water. The sulfur and lack of trampling by swimmers has allowed the spring to develop a diverse range of unique vegetation. The spring is naturally a prime spot for photographers. Besides the spring, the trail system at the local park contains a pristine view of Florida palm hammock in the St. Johns floodplain.
Green Springs Park is near the historic area of Enterprise, which was once an important rail depot that helped to serve Florida's developing east coast as well as a steamboat port along the St. Johns, a water highway leading into Central Florida whose navigable areas end on Lake Monroe. The park is joined to nearby Gemini Springs Park by a multi-use trail called the Spring-to-Spring Trail.
Besides the patterns of the reflections, I was also struck by this intersection of the colors off this shallow stream.

Besides RAW file processing using Adobe RAW plug-in, no post-processing was applied to alter this image in anyway.
this is an example of combining the use of colored optical filters, and the great advantages of shooting in RAW mode (which, in my opinion, is the best thing that ever happened to photography after the digital evolution)
It was actually simple, I used a Cokin filter holder that allows for multiple filters.. and I inserted a 1-stop graduated neutral density, and a strong orange sunset filter. and took 1 exposure.
... I then opened the RAW file and adjusted the white-balance toward very warm color temperatures, decreased my exposure using the exposure compensation, and boosted both saturation and contrasts to the maximum.
and that was the result :)
here is another very similar technique used in my Reign of Fire
Besides animal photos, I love photographing our grandchildren.
What joy they have brought to our lives!
Besides its copper output (anodes and cathodes) the Aurubis Pirdop factory is also a large producer of sulphuric acid. Most of it is exported via the ports of Varna and Burgas but there are also some local customers like Interkapa Greece which has about one train of acid from Pirdop monthly.

This beautiful cat is an Ocelot. The ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) is a medium-sized spotted wild cat that reaches 40–50 cm (16–20 in) at the shoulders and weighs between 7 and 15.5 kg (15 and 34 lb) on average. It is native to the southwestern United States, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Margarita. Carl Linnaeus scientifically described it in 1758. Two subspecies are recognized.

Well, besides Greedo anyways. Poor sod.
Did some mild updating here and there, boosted some of these guys up to my liking. The only really notable changes are that Dengar now has white hips, cause I feel like it balances better, and Boba's got red cuffs.
Then there's IG-88, the design for which I absolutely adore. The majority of the design is stolen from @talegophotography on Instagram, with some mild changes. I may post a tutorial on how to build him on my other page, but I figured it out by sight, so it's not that hard to do.
Everybody else has stayed the same cause they're pretty much perfect.

Man do I love these figs. Cheers folks!
Besides being cuddly and cute, they offer unconditional love, reassurance, security and companionship. Many adults still have fond memories of their own teddy bears they loved as children.
Teddy bears have a depth of character that other toys don't have, and in playing with one a child brings it to life. The bear helps to stimulate and develop their imagination. “Teddy bears encourage this type of imaginative play by their very nature, in a way a gadget or electronic toy can't.”
so besides color, the other thing i love is texture. i have been collecting these assorted candlesticks and putting them in my artificial fireplace for a couple years now. i got an awesome mantle/fireplace frame-thing from a garage sale and keep filling it w/ texutre-y white candle-sticks and red candles. i love it!!
Besides the difference in color between this and #1, there is also the difference in aperture. Here, f 5.6. There, f 2.8. There is more clarity and detail in the flower in this pic and more going on in the background. Not necessarily a bad thing. I am thinking of replacing #1 with a more vivid version. I didn't realize how dull it looks until I processed a couple of more pics. The only thing stopping me are the comments and faves it has received. So, will probably just post the second version separately.
