Besides the 3 hours Girl Scout training tonight (plus an hour round trip to get there and back, but I traveled with some other leaders, so we actually had fun), our office is in several business and consumer shows and is putting on our own big annual event, plus Halloween and Rowan's birthday coming up... it's just one of those time periods where I really wish I could just pause time now and then to breathe a little.
Rowan has finally decided - and stuck with - a Halloween costume, now she just needs to make it. Then figure out what she wants for her birthday (besides a cell phone), and what she wants to DO for it, if anything. I can't believe she's going to be 11.
I ran into someone at the GS training tonight who recognized me from high school - she'd graduated two years ahead of me. It always throws me when someone from high school recognizes me (usually followed by how I look exactly the same... um, ouch?), I guess mainly because I'm such a different person inside, it is hard to think I'm not entirely different outside. And honestly, I put as much of that period of my life out of my head as I can - I rarely recognize anyone I run into, which of course makes me feel lousy.

Besides the group of monks, I notice one particular monk meditating along the corridor outside the rock cave temples. This is a very quiet and peaceful place and is really good for meditation. Please also note the dagoba at the far end of the corridor. This one is of the usual white colour and different from the special golden yellow colour which you see earlier at the Golden Temple.
