Love is what makes two people sit in the middle of a bench when there is plenty of room at both ends – anonymous

If you look very carefully at the linked photo, you can just see the bench :

However the other day while I was out someone had moved it and I had a much better view of it.

Looking down at a bench on the promenade. There are two levels at the end of the promenade nearest us, so you can look down.

and enjoy the rest of the week!!

When I say Bench, it’s probably benchES. Memorial benches are quite popular (if that is the correct word), but usually there is only one plaque per bench. In this beauty spot, the local council have maximised the opportunity for ‘loved ones’ to be remembered in this way by having several multi plaque boards behind the seats. I reckon there are circa 80 memorials behind.

I don’t know for certain, but it probably generated more income, too. Whatever, it’s a fabulously different arrangement I think for several reasons including the carvings.

Happy Bench Monday!

Littleborough, England - overlooking Hollingworth Lake

This is probably somewhere on my photostream, but it was first taken around 8 years ago.

It was in the public garden behind the church, which was a delightful place to sit. Sadly, it got taken over by drunks and the like and was completely spoilt. Now, no benches and no-one else using a lovely green spot.

Happy Bench Monday from Middle River on this sunset before the Superbowl ... it was an amazing burn in the sky and glad I took a chance on the colors being there in the sky. The potential was there with the clouds around and mother nature did her work.

..HBM!!

I took this shot a few months back. Not many wildflowers around right now..;( I finally finished paining the inside today. To save money, I agreed to do the trim, baseboards and cabinets. So, the painters finished last week..:) It looks pretty good. The grey on the walls had more blue in than I expected, but I'm ok with it. I was going to paint the cabinet a blue grey but changed my mind and painted them white.

Happy week everyone

Nearby Green Road Gardens opened to the public this weekend so as Martin was off work we headed along. We did visit this time last year, they held a fund raising event for the Helen Blake Lifeboat Appeal. Irene Kelly the owner runs various classes throughout the year; basket weaving, plant propagation, seed saving, stone carving etc. You can read about the gardens here www.greenroadgardens.ie

The Roses & herbaceous borders were beautiful but I especially liked this overgrown little pond, perfect wildlife habitat. We walked round & sat on the bench. Once again we counted our blessings. It's 2 years this month since we moved house from Co. Cork, the stress was all worth it HBM!

The well known bench at the Big Lizard sculpture (that has been there since 1996). always a popular hang out spot at West End. Happy Bench Monday/ HBM

Bench Monday

Vicki, a friend from New Mexico lived in this amazing house with her hubby Mike, son Skye and two dogs. It was such an fabulous place. They had this huge in-ground pool in the backyard and this beautiful bench was where you could sit and cool down in the shade. It was spectacular to say the least.

This was opposite of the previous bench.

Both on porch of a cabin.
