A well-placed favorite bench that I've spent memorable time on.

Was a foggy, chilly and moody morning this day. I patiently waited, but the fog never lifted to allow a peek at the iconic peaks above. Even so, I had a wonderful time here cleansing my soul, breathing in the crisp, fresh air and absorbing this enchantment.

I love being able to step right back into our images and reconnect with the special experience it was to be there.

Have a wonderful weekend!

This section of the canal is between Renton's Bridge and Nicholson's Bridge. On the left you can see Ripon Racecourse and to the right the tops of motor boats moored at the Ripon Motor Boat Club.

Ripon Motor Boat Club was established in 1931, having celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2016 the club is now one of the largest inland waterway boat clubs in the country.

The Ripon Canal is located in North Yorkshire, England. It was built by the canal engineer William Jessop to link the city of Ripon with the navigable section of the River Ure at Oxclose Lock, from where boats could reach York and Hull. First used in 1773 and closed in 1956 consising of 3 locks over its 2.3 miles

In 1961, members of the Ripon Motor Boat Club formed the Ripon Canal Company Ltd, and gradually restored the canal up to Littlethorpe. Subsequently, the Ripon Canal Society spearheaded restoration, which was completed in 1996. It is now managed by the Canal & River Trust

In Moniga del Garda, Italia

Someone had created this bench with a nice view of the river, but after the water levels rose, it was washed away. Life is fleeting, live your best life!

Taken back in 2014 in Lannion, when we were looking for an apartment here.

Hope I haven't used this for a bench Monday before. Not getting out much and I've taken all the benches near home.

Humber Bay Promenade, Toronto.

This is a bench with a lovely view. The bench has got a nice rusty patina. The bench is hard to photograph because it is situated on a large expanse of concrete and next to a rubbish bin, the latter with no redeeming qualities other than usefulness.

HBM!

I spotted this one on the hike I went on Saturday. I've hiked Bright Leaf Preserve about a year ago and some how missed this old homemade bench. I'm often, happily amazed, at how creative people can be. This was made in the days when we didn't throw everything away.

Hope your week goes well.

..HBM!!

Some one added me as a contact the sometime back, and I went to look at the stream and probably add them. I always click on "About" because I'm interested in how we all got down the photography path. Anyway, I noticed that he wasn't following me. I thought how odd and maybe I didn't respond fast enough, but I've since noticed others unfriending me as well and it doesn't seem to matter how fast I get back to them. I guess people can make a game out of anything.
