The Bell Tower of Xi'an (simplified Chinese: 西安钟楼; traditional Chinese: 西安鐘樓; pinyin: Xī'ān Zhōnglóu), built in 1384 during the early Ming Dynasty, is a symbol of the city of Xi'an and one of the grandest of its kind in China. The Bell Tower also contains several large bronze-cast bells from the Tang Dynasty. The tower base is square and it covers an area of 1,377 m2 (14,820 sq ft). The tower is a brick and timber structure and close to 40 m (130 ft) high. It is located in the center of Xi'an, at the intersection of the four streets of the east, west, south and north. It is the largest and most preserved one amongst the many bell towers left over from ancient China.(Wikipedia)

When you are at the famous Maroon Bells, don't forget to turn around and check the mountains at the back. The red peaks are photogenic. This panorama was created from four shots.

These blue bells are on their way to a full blossom!

One that I'd considered doing for this week's Macro Monday

Bell Omphalina, (Xeromphalina spp, poss Xeromphalina campanella), is a very common mini-mushroom helping fallen trees decay faster in the PNW. Ravenna Park, Seattle. WA

It was a very quiet Friday night before Christmas on this usually busy strip of restaurants and bars. A couple of the temporary outside dining structures can be seen on either side of the street, and most of the snow from two days earlier is already gone. It is a very difficult time for everyone, especially for the bars and restaurants, who all chip in for the overhead garland stretching across the boulevard. There are mostly green lights ahead, but the two yellow lights warn, "Caution!" I live nearby and went for a walk in search of my daily photo fix. One photo a day. A ship's bell is a bell on a ship that is used for the indication of time as well as other traditional functions. The bell itself is usually made of brass or bronze, and normally has the ship's name engraved or cast on it.

Unlike civil clock bells, the strikes of a ship's bell do not accord to the number of the hour. Instead, there are eight bells, one for each half-hour of a four-hour watch. In the age of sailing, watches were timed with a 30-minute hourglass. Bells would be struck every time the glass was turned, and in a pattern of pairs for easier counting, with any odd bells at the end of the sequence.

The southern bell frog, also known as the growling grass frog in Australia, Ranoidea raniformis (previously Litoria raniformis), is the largest introduced frog in New Zealand. Compared to the green and golden bell frog, the southern bell frog has a lot more warts and a distinct pale-green dorsal stripe. It also tends to have less gold colouring.

Ringing in a birthday with this tiny bell that wanted to be found. I pushed it on a shelf and made a wonderful sound. I decided to photograph for this week's macro monday's theme of bells. HMM,

The friendship bell, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was presented as a gift from the people of the Republic of Korea to the people of the United States of America on the occasion of the American Bicentennial Jubilee to further the friendship and trust between the two nations.

Cast with an alloy of tin, copper, gold, silver, and phosphorus, the bell reflects the distinct characteristics and beauty of traditional Korean bells.

The knob o the bell comprises a dragon-shaped figure and a sound pipe. On the outer circumference of the bell are four pairs of goddesses carved in relief to symbolize the spirits of freedom, independence, peace and prosperity in each of the two countries. Ornate bands of the rose of Sharon, the national flower of Korea, decorate in relief the shoulder and rim of the bell. The bell measures 3.63 meters in height with a circumference of 7.25 meters. It weighs 17 metric tons.

The bell pavilion, constructed in traditionally Korean architectural style with a blue-tiled roof, is painted in a unique coloring pattern, which is known in Korea as "????."

It is the hope of the Korean people that the friendship bell will forever sound the continued prosperity of the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, together with the enduring friendship of the two nations, which is sealed by a mutual faith in freedom and independence.

Tough for me that I used the perfect bell for the motion blur theme before so didn't wanna use that again. This is the bell hanging next to our kitchen door on the first floor. Whenever lunch was ready, my granny used to ring it, it can be heard in all three floors of our house. When heard we all sat down at the big table to have lunch. It was the one meal of the day where the whole family came together.

Looks massive but is actually small and emits a high pitched sound.

Dimension of the bell itself is approx. 2,5 inches in height.

Am not entirely certain of this flower, thinking Pieris japonica commonly called Temple Bells, but there were great profusions of white bells from the tree. There was a pink version on another tree. Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens. (Explored)
