a new beginning is the way of life.
We need to let it happen even if sometimes we can't make it happen.
This is the photograph that made me decide to become a photographer. I knew I liked taking pictures, but it was seeing this image on a slide that made me want to do this more. This began the first real phase of my photographic journey. This was the moment when i dove into taking photos all the time and thinking I could do something with it.
Then I let life catch up with me. I still took tons of images and worked on advancing a career in photography. I even went to Asia for four months and photographed like mad. It was great. And I continued to pursue the career. But some of the luster was being lost.
I was operating in a vacuum. Sure, my friends, family and the odd client saw and enjoyed my images, but it was a bit lacking. Finding this place. This photographic home has reignited that passion in me. That fire. That spark. Thank you flickr. Thank you all.
This was one of my early slide photos. On an afternoon drive I spotted this out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was very telling of the hand of man and our impact on the environment.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and earth”, man and woman together were given the gift of creating a new life, given freely to celebrate, cherish and love. The journey begins with planting the seed and the day will come you will hold that wonderful gift in your arms. The journey will continue everyday of your lives together. There will be good times and bad, peaks and valleys but also filled with love, wonder and excitement.

The weather has stayed unseasonably warm here so far in September (a few days excepted here and there) and the forecast ahead looks like the trend will continue (no one complaining here!) Despite the temperatures a few trees have decided to lead the pack towards changing colors. I love this particular view, and the 85mm focal length from the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX that I just reviewed was perfect for compressing it a bit and drawing some of those distant elements closer. I wrote an article for Alien Skin's blog about using a telephoto for landscapes (www.alienskin.com/blog/2015/long-range-landscapes/) and you can also read my review of the Sigma here: bit.ly/1JW0JZE

The sunrise was beautiful yesterday and today. So many beautiful colors and then a the sun peaking through. We don't have an unimpeded view of the sunrise but I love the way it looks with the silhouettes of the trees and houses. Hope you have a fantastic Friday!
Evening color was just starting on a beautiful sunset at Mono Lake.

Nature's lesson for the day.
Though things may seem chopped off,
There's plenty of room to sprout a new beginning.
Happy weekend everyone!

Don't stand still, be more mobile and allow yourself to go down the pathway of exploration this new year.
One step at a time, one day at a time let yourself walk, run and leap toward new experiences and opportunities that may be ahead beyond the horizon.
Happy and safe travels to wherever life leads you in 2015
Week 1/52, 2016
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “New Beginnings.” I wanted to start the year with a self portrait. I initially took some pictures using the front camera on my phone. I love the way the light flares across my face, although I wish the picture wasn’t so grainy. I tried to reproduce this shot with my SLR, but I couldn’t get the same effect. I’ve decided to stay with my phone picture.
Good luck to everyone with your photography projects the year. Happy New Year!
Since the beginning of this week and going under the weather it seems, I have not felt too well and now I have gone down with bad flu. Which has knocked me for six and this is the first one like this I have not had for some time now.
Still, I am only human and we can't escape these bugs and virus germs all the time!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and hopefully a healthy one too!
And Many thanks and Cheers for your comments and compliments from you here, my good flickr friends !!!

I'm in airplane mode
I don't need no drama
Everybody know I ain't 'bout that drama
Oh yeah, oh look at what I started
Imma tell you right now
I plan on chillin' so hard right now
Ain't takin' no calls right now
I'm kickin' back and I'm lightin' up
Doin' what the fuck I want
Just rolled a wood, I'm feelin' good
Just me, myself and this blunt
Everything I do is way up man
If anybody good I swear it's us man
I'm vibin', I'm chillin', I'm good

New Beginnings: My First Self-portrait and First Post on Flickr.
Recently, I was mourning over the death of a close friend. I was still haunted by this fragility and constant uncertainty that lingers in our lives. Time promises that you may never view the same instance twice. Photography is still relatively a new experience for me but I felt compelled to create - create and express my feelings that would be difficult to put into words. The beauty of photography is the ability to capture the fleeting moment in the spontaneous instance when the past is almost gone, and the future is just starting to appear.
I’ve have been always impressed by how much an individual’s photography improves during the course of a 365 or 52 day challenge. I wanted to challenge myself. it’s not going to be easy, but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth trying. It’s also time for me to say goodbye to this mourning child, at least for now.
